Savvi

Their selection of tuxes, vests, ties, etc was great. Customer service was excellent. Before our wedding, my husband had to rent a tux from another place for a wedding he stood up in, but it came in with broken buttons. Savvi was the only tux store still open that night, so we went there for help, and they let him borrow a set of buttons for free since he was a "future" customer on their books. How nice is that! These people were very accommodating and strove to meet all our needs.

The Bridal Event

In terms of selection of gowns and styles, I think this salon is the best in Appleton. They also have an enormous tuxedo show room. You can get your gown, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, tuxes, shoes, jewelry, even garters here. They make you feel like a valued customer. The in-house alterations were well done. The only reason I didn't give this vendor all 5 stars was because I feel they could've done more to make my wedding dress-buying experience more special, for example they put my dress in a regular white plastic bag when I took it home instead of packing it in cloth.

Bed Bath & Beyond

All my friends told me this was a great place to register, and they were right. You make an appointment to register, and they assign someone to personally help you select items and fill out the registry. They printed up little cards with our names and registry numbers to include in shower invitations. When guests purchase things off our registry, they offer to wrap the gift for free. After the wedding, they invited us to a "registry wrap up" party where we received 20% off the rest of our registry items.

Voces de America

This is a mariachi band based in Milwaukee, WI. Their only contact info that I'm aware of is via phone, so the best way to find them is probably by asking around. Their rates are reasonable, and they're available for hire as either a 3-piece or a 5-piece band. Their extensive repertoire includes both traditional Mariachi music and some American songs. They were very popular with our guests - this band knows how to please a crowd! My only negative things to say are that they don't do contracts and that they arrived about 15 minutes late to our event.

Paiellis Bakery

This vendor is primarily a pastry bakery, but they make very delicious cakes also. They were able to duplicate cake in a picture we provided them. We asked them to put our monogram on in icing, and I was disappointed that it looked sloppy, almost like a child had done it. So the overall look of the cake wasn't spectacular, but the price was good, the taste was phenomenal, and the cake was delivered to our venue on time.

CJDDJ

This vendor was definitely a case of getting what you pay for. You get two DJs for less than most single DJs charge. However, the leader of the two was never available to meet to discuss what songs we want and the order of events at the reception and such. We actually had to visit him while he was working the evening shift at a retail job - not very professional IMO. They're very good at putting on the right music to keep people on the dance floor, but at the cost of not playing many of the songs we had asked for. We asked them to keep the first dance short, and they drew it out to several minutes! We also asked them to announce everything in both English and Spanish (because the groom's family don't speak much English) and were assured that they could do that, but rarely bothered to. When it came time for the groom's parents to dance with us, the announcement was only made in English, so everyone looked at the groom's parents wondering why they weren't coming to the dance floor! In general, I felt like these DJs resisted any requests that were out-of-the ordinary and just wanted to do things their way. Fortunately, none of my guests had a clue that we were dissatisfied on those points; they all danced the night away and had a great time, and to them these DJ's did everything they were supposed to.

Kenosha Floral

Every bride's ideal vendor is one who instinctively understands what she wants and does it perfectly, and this florist did that! The floral designer is a very sweet lady and so easy to work with. She actually ordered a few of the flowers I was considering and sat down with me to mock up my bouquet, free of charge... before I had even agreed to book her services! That kind of personalized service deserves 5 stars. I would hire this florist again in a heartbeat.

Big City Limousine

We hired this vendor because we were offered an excellent promo package price. The limo arrived on time, and it was clean and in good condition. The driver was a pretty cool guy, kept us to our schedule, and was able to accommodate our detour for alcohol. ;) No complaints here!

Tie the Knot Wedding Photography

This is a couple who work as a pair. I can't tell you how advantageous it is to have two photographers at your wedding! One of them is great at setting up portrait shots, and the other has that photojournalistic talent to capture the emotion of the moment in a still picture. I was told they would bring one kid to help carry equipment, and they ended up bringing two kids. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that I needed to provide four vendor meals. They printed up a few pictures for me on the way to the reception which was really cool, and based on those, I'm confident in saying that my pictures turned out well. I can't wait for the rest of my pictures to come in!
