Seth Roberts Photography is a husband/wife team for the price of one photographer and they were worth every penny! Unlike other photographers with package deals, Seth customizes each "package" for each couple's needs. They worked 9 hours in the heat and pouring rain and not only were they great photographers but they were knowledgable and helpful in other areas during the day as well. They were very professional, have lots of experience and the product was outstanding! The turnaround for pictures being available online was very quick, almost exactly in the amount of time they promised. We have way more photos than we'll ever know what to do with; a mixture of the traditional shots and lots of extras. I have pictures of myself when I wasn't even aware that the picture was being taken. In other words, they were everywhere but completely out of the way at the same time. The angles are perfect and the ideas they came up with were great as well. We had 3 sessions with them, engagements, bridal portraits and the wedding day and they were always on time if not early. They were really friendly, helpful and available throughout the entire planning process and the wedding day. I will recommend them to everyone!
The price was the best I could find in Richmond, especially with the order being placed only a couple months before the wedding. The design we requested was almost exactly like the picture we provided and the taste was awesome! In fact, we froze the extra slices and take them out to eat and they are still good a month later! Our contact was very helpful though slightly hard to reach just due to her working hours. The bakery was actually open when others are not. The delivery charge was reasonable. The cake was delivered later than we were told it would be but it was still at the reception long before the wedding started.
The registration process began a little poorly because we felt as though the salesperson was hovering a bit too much however that was the only bad experience we had. The website was great for keeping up with the registry adding to it. After the wedding we attended a night where we saved 20% on everything remaining on the registry and anything else we purchased. There was plenty of staff available to help us that night and we had a great time buying all the stuff we still needed.
I bought my dress here because at the time it was the only store in Richmond that sold Alfred Angelo dresses. I personally never had problems with her but she was a little rude with my bridesmaids especially when they were late arriving at the store. The bridesmaid dresses barely arrived in time for the wedding due to Alfred Angelo's delays company wide and Angelique knew this but was ready to ship the dresses back if the girls did not pick them up within 5 days. She didn't even give me the opportunity to get them myself.
I was told the max I would spend on alterations would be $200 and it was well over $300. The guys also got their tuxes there. They were quoted a different price than what they actually got.
The only plus I would give her would be that her seamstress was able to make custom sleeves for my dress which did not come with them. However when she sewed in clips for the bustling, all 22 of them, the thread was visible on the outside of the dress. There was nothing we could do about it to fix it because there wasnt time to send it back.
My mother, bridesmaids and I all purchased dresses from Alfred Angelo. My mom is the only person who made her purchase at an actual Alfred Angelo store location. My dress was in bad shape. It had a hole in it but fortunately it was on the underside. The day of my bridal portraits we found out how cheap the thread is because the button on the back of the dress completely popped off. And I lost beads during one the fittings and a bunch of them at the wedding. Then it rained during the ceremony and the red accent in the dress bled through the white.
My mom was fitted at the Alfred Angelo store and they insisted she get her size in "wide" even though she didn't need to. She did as they advised. The dress came back labeled in the size she ordered and it was way too big. She took it to a seamstress who said she cut enough material out of the inside of the dress to make it 3 sizes bigger than the label indicated! My sister's dress didn't require someone to cut it to know it was 3 sizes too big because it hung off of her so much. She ended up paying the same amount as the cost of the dress to have it altered. And then the ribbon around the middle which was sewn into the dress completely came unsewn on the wedding day.
On top of all that, the bridesmaid dresses were ordered in time but almost did not arrive on time because of a company-wide delay. My guess is that it's because they are made cheaply overseas.
