Sweet Em's

I've eaten a lot of cakes and cupcakes in my life - and Emily's were the best. Hands down. Even a couple of months later, we took a few out of the freezer and they were still amazing. Emily is also wonderful to work with.

Pros:

The photos turned out pretty well.

I requested we take some photos in certain places in our venue, and she was accommodating.

We got a discount because we used the venue owned by her husband.

We received CDs containing all of our wedding photos - and a release to use them as we like - within three weeks of our wedding.

Cons:

She didn't tell us until about 2 weeks before the wedding that an engagement shoot was included in our package (my now-husband lived out-of-state, so this was useless).

Her actions were the least professional of all wedding photographers I've interacted with. (One small example of many: her cell phone rang during our ceremony.)

She barely edited her photos - generally, when you pay for a wedding photographer, you pay both for the pictures and the solid knowledge of Photoshop. Our pictures needed more editing than she gave them.

Overall: I wouldn't recommend Studio K.

The venue itself is lovely. Despite being a very basic pole building, the vineyard creates a nice backdrop and a few decorations are all it takes to turn boring into beautiful.

Pros:

-They were very helpful as we figured out whether to do a cash or open bar.

-We had all of Friday to set up for the reception, and we could have taken all of Sunday to tear down. This was extremely nice.

-The event staff helped place some greenery just before the reception that was too fragile to be placed the day before.

-The venue did a food & wine tasting a few months before the wedding so we could decide what to serve.*

- They were acommodating to guests with food allergies.

- Having waitstaff serve the food was the same price as serving the food via a buffet.

Cons:

-Manager was frustrating to work with. Very unorganized.

-*The venue fired their caterer (and lied about it) about a month before our wedding; the food served was pretty different from what we had at the original tasting.

- Some of the "hot" food was cold when served, and seemed undercooked. (This was chicken, not beef.)

- We were told we would recieve leftover food at the end of the night, and that they would make extra in case any "surprise" guests showed up. Despite the fact that we had 10 *fewer* guests than expected, we were told that there was no extra food.

Overall: Pretty location, frustrating managers.
