Julie was wonderful to work with! She came with her staff to do hair and make-up for me, four bridesmaids, and two moms and everyone looked great! If you want a relaxing morning on the day of your wedding, I highly recommend hiring people to come to you for pampering and Smart and Chic Bride is the way to go!
Milton’s was wonderful to work with. It is a small shop where you get exceptional service! After having a bad experience shopping for dresses at the Wedding Shoppe, I called Milton’s 5 minutes before they closed on a Saturday to see how late they were open. They asked if I was in the neighborhood and when I said I was about 10 minutes away they said come on in! Cheryl and her staff stayed open that night for an extra 3 hours so my bridesmaids and I could try on dresses! We ended up finding everything we wanted with exceptional service and personal attention that you won’t find at many bridal shops. Milton’s also did my alterations and everything went perfectly!
Amy Mills did a wonderful job on all of our stationary for the wedding. After meeting with her once, she created the exact invitation I wanted. She also created our programs, table numbers, menus, votive place card holders, and seating assignments. Her work tied everything at our wedding together beautifully and she is very reasonably priced! To see our stationary go to her Website at www.uniqlove.com and our invitations are the ones in pink on the main page or in her gallery. If you are not crafty or have too much on your plate, work with UNIQLOVE. Amy made everything so easy and she even reprinted our programs at the last minute when I realized I had made a mistake!
The food was great and they were willing to make anything we wanted (it didn’t have to be from the traditional menu). We did a make your own pasta bar, salad, bread, cheese curds (my choice!) and buffalo wings (my husband’s choice). Kind of a random menu, but everyone loved it! Because it was such a fun laid back atmosphere and it was reasonably priced we were also able to invite all of our friends from out of town which was great! We hosted an open bar and also had a keg in our private party room.
Noah was my favorite vendor to work with. He has such an amazing personality and his work is amazing. I can’t tell you how many compliments I had about Noah throughout the day from both my friends and family! Everyone loved being around him and wanted to know how I had found him (why, The Knot of course!). Noah is so creative and puts everyone at ease on the wedding day. He even brings his own emergency kit in case of accidents (that Tide stick sure came in handy when my shout wipes weren’t doing the trick on dress stains). All of have to say is “Hire Noah!” You will be thrilled with the results. After all, it’s not every Minnesota bride who gets to work with one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world!
Breathtaking! That’s all I have to say about Martha’s flowers. She did an amazing job and literally brought me to tears when I saw all of the flowers at the reception. We did a mixture of peonies and garden roses that ended up lasting more than a week and a half after the wedding! Martha is creative and a wonderful listener and she makes sure she understands your sense of style and incorporates that in to your day. You will not get the typical wedding flowers from Martha as every wedding she does is completely unique. Martha and her staff are extremely friendly, they even invited me in for a glass of wine to take a look at my flowers as they were putting them together! Martha isn’t talked a lot about on The Knot, but she is amazing!!!
We are still waiting for our video, but so far Virtuoso has been great to work with. Adam has been my main contact and he has been great. We got the platinum package so Virtuoso also did our slide show which turned out beautifully and we got tons of compliments on it. They shoot in HD which is hard to come by for the prices they offer. We had two videographers for 9 hours the day of our wedding and they were very friendly, but stayed in the background so they didn’t interfere with our day.
Mintahoe was very easy to work with. We did a bar package with unlimited beer and wine for a very reasonable price. We were even able to upgrade the beer! For dinner we served a family style Italian meal which all of our guests enjoyed. It was different from the typical meal which we got lots of compliments on. The staff was very professional and nicely dressed and we couldn’t ask for better service!!
Our DJ was Noan and he had the dance floor packed the entire night! He played exactly the kind of music we wanted and kept the reception flowing perfectly. I had rented equipment from the JJ Hill Library to play our slide show and when Noan came to talk to at the beginning of the evening he mentioned that we had rented the projector and screen, but there was no computer to play the DVD. I completely overlooked this (simply thinking I had rented everything and checked it off my list), but Noan came to the rescue and borrowed a laptop from one of the videographers who happened to bring his along in his car. I know Bellagala gets some bad reviews on The Knot, but we had a wonderful experience and I would recommend them to any of my friends!
The tuxes looked great! We had groomsmen fly in from all over the country so it was nice to rent from a place with locations throughout the nation. We had no problem with the tuxes except for one groomsman who received pants that were a little too short. The alterations department took the pants in back and had them at the perfect length in less than 10 minutes!
