The tuxes looked great. They were very flexible about bringing them back since we weren't getting married in town and wouldn't be back until after the due date. They were very helpful and accommodating.
If there could be more stars I would mark them too! Theses guys are amazing! Well, I should say girls.. Kira and Sarah were completely awesome and totally "got us". They knew exactly what kind of pictures we wanted and were so easy and fun to work with. When other things were going wrong that day I just kept saying "well, at least our photographers are awesome". We are also photographers so choosing the right one was the biggest decision of the whole wedding planning process. I think we did pretty good :)
Our flowers ended up being beautiful. My bouquet was exactly like I wanted it. The mens bouts were not quite what I had in mind, even though I gave pictures for how I wanted them to look. The girls bouquets were nice except the handles of them were the wrong color. When it was brought to their attention they immediately went and fixed them which I was very impressed with. Ultimately the flowers looked very nice but the road getting there was a little rocky as I sometimes felt that she really didn't like it when I didn't do it the was she wanted.
Working with these people was fine until the day before our wedding when the guy who was supposed to do our wedding called and said it was going to be someone else. The kid who ended up doing it obviously didn't know what he was doing, didn't know how to use the equipment and didn't even have the full song list. Because the music was really important to us we created a song list for everything, including giving them, on cd, a cut version of the song that I was to walk down the isle to. Well, that song was played, but not the cut version, so I ended up walking down to wrong part of the song (the part that was supposed to be cut out). Also, the song that the parents walked in to was the wrong song completely. Right title, wrong artist. Then he didnt even have the music for the cocktail hour so as cocktail hour is beginning this kid (who I'm pretty sure was in high school) was downloading the music from iTunes! The setup in the reception was terrible and no one could even hear/understand what was being said though the microphone and it wasn't until my dad went over and showed him how to change a setting on his mixing board that the music finally sounded right. This kid was totally unprepared for this job but from what we gathered it was thrown at him at the last minute soi wasn't totally his fault.
Oh! There was also a videographer there prior to and during the ceremony. We never got the DVD. Even after calling and them saying we'd get it in a couple weeks. It's been 6 months.
We looked around quite a bit for a bakery to do our cake, primarily because all the places that had amazing looking cakes had terrible tasting cake. When we found Schimidts we were so excited because their cake actually tasted amazing! The decoration in wanted on my cake was very simple and elegant. White with a black ribbon at the bottom of each layer, along with a damask type patter on the front of two of the layers. It was fairly simple and they agreed that it would be no problem at all. The day before the wedding they had scheduled a time for me to come check it out to make sure everything looked ok. When we got there it was not even close to done and looked like a hot mess so there was nothing really to approve But she assured us it would be done and look great. Apparently while delivering the cake to my wedding, which was about a 45 minute drive up the mountain in a windy canyon, the cake fell over and 2, maybe 3, of the layers were ruined. So they set up what they could salvage and went back down the mountain and remade the other layers and brought it back up about half way through the ceremony. Question of the day - Why were all the layers already assembled?? They said that's just how they do it. Well, maybe they should rethink that.. When they finally finished with it the cake looked completely diculous. The 2 top layers were too big and didnt fit and the decoration on the cake looked HORRIBLE! A week or two after the wedding we tried to call and complain (several times) and never got any reply at all. They just completely ignored the fact that they ruined my cake and never took any responsibility for it. I would never recommend these people to anyone!
