Linda Jackson and the girls at Maher were absolutely great! So many guest liked the idea of being able to help us with our honeymoon! They open an account for us and keep track of all the gift certificates that people bought us for our travels. They even made us little registry cards to stick into our invitations! Linda was very patient with us looking up many possible dates for our honeymoon, as we weren't sure when my husband could get time off. I think I called her about 12 times with different dates!
We registered at Sears so that all of the out of town guests had another option. They was a wide range of gifts we could put onto the registry and it was fun using the scanning guns! The only complaint I have is there was a lady that worked at the Midtown Sears location in the registry that kept saying to my guests that she thought we didn't have enough items on our registry and it was a disgrace! She even said to me one time that we should add more items, for some reason she couldn't wrap her little mind around the fact a) we had other registries and b) we have lived together for a couple years now and we didn't need more stuff at our house! We were not going to put things on the registry just because there were not many items on there!
We had Ray Oleshko and his crew serve the alcohol at our wedding. We bought hard liquor and wine from the Liquor Board Store and beer, pop, and cups from the Windsor Hotel in Battleford. Ray and his crew were great! He met with us prior to and we delegated who would bring what. The Liquor Store had our order all ready to go a week ahead and stored it for us till we came and got it a few days before. The Windsor, for a small fee, delivered everything out to the lake for us and we returned what wasn't used the following day. All three were great to work with and made the booze one else thing to worry about!
Rick Hiebert did everything her could to make sure we had the exact songs that we had requested for our big day. He came out prior to the big day to see where he could set up and make sure he had everything he needed for the day of. He played a great variety of music that we liked along with some songs that would appeal to the older crowd. Very excellent job done!
Big Dan and his staff were amazing! They allowed us to big in our own perogies, cabbage rolls, and home made buns made by our grandparents, which meant a lot! The meat, salads, and meat trays were awesome!! Everyone is still raving about the food! We had prime rib as our main and smoked turkey as a second meat and the smoked turkey was gone first! Absolutely delicious meal and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer. And they were very well priced :)
Linda Sheppard made cupcakes for our wedding and a small cake for cutting into. We had marble and vanilla flavors and they were delicious! She even has a glass stand for the cupcakes that you can rent, but be very careful when transporting as it breaks very easily.
I can't say enough wonderful things about our photographer Dave Stobbe! Myself being a big photo buff, I was looking for someone who could not only do the formal shots, but more importantly catch the candid shots and Dave more then delivered! Our package included a free engagement session which also turned out perfect! Just check out Dave's website and you'll see the amazing talent he has. He was very accomodating and actually camped at the park for the weekend with his family! During our reception he put a slideshow of pics that he had just took earlier that day so everyone could see. It was awesome to see some of the pics so soon!
The girls at Milbanke Flowers and Home Decor were awesome! When it stormed the day of my shower, they took orders over the phone from relatives in Manitoba who couldn't come, wrapped the gifts and made sure they were delivered in time for the shower! Anyone from out of town that had to order gifts over the phone or people that came into the stoe to shop just raved about how easy the girls made thier shopping experience! And they have such a wide variety of home decor, kitchen items, and other gifts that everyone had a large amount of items to choose from.
