Our reception. This facility is a dinner theater that is well known in St. Joseph under its previous name- The Ice House Theater. What a unique place! It's on the smaller side (fits 90-110) but it was perfect for us. It has such a vintage feel and the atmosphere is something like you've never seen at other weddings. Our guests loved it. We did all of our own decorations and it looked awesome. I like it because you didn't have to dress it up a whole lot like you do at rental halls. It already has a lot provided. However....warning! warning! warning! We had several problems with the manager Jeff. While he seemed to have forgotten all sense of his manners when addressing us, he has no business dealing with the public! Connie is the one you want to deal with and avoid Jeff at all cost. Make sure everything is spelled out in your contract, because Jeff will keep your deposit without warning for whatever reason he can come up with! It's a shame we had a bad experience with Jeff after the event because we would have recommended this facility to anyone!
We chose Hy-Vee to cater our reception as they were the best bang for the buck. Our menu was herb roasted chicken, BBQ brisket, green bean casserole, texas potatoes, and a tossed green salad. Food was awesome and our guests loved the menu. Our only problem was that the servers did not bus the tables so we had plates stacked everywhere!!! While this was upsettnig at the time, the manager of catering (Mike) made it right in the end and was deeply sorry for the inconvenience. At the end of the day, we were happy withour selections and choice of caterer.
Sara is the owner of BoDee photography and a pleasure to work with. We had contracted just the ceremony and church pictures with her and they were amazing. She made us all look great!!! Our pics were up on her website within 3 weeks of our wedding date and the dvd came in the mail shortly after. She includes a print release on the dvd so you will have no trouble printing your selections at Sam's, Wal-Mart, or Walgreen's, wherever you go. I prefer this way so much more over ordering your prints through the actual photographer.
Our rehearsal dinner was held at Boudreaux's downtown. It was fantastic. We used the private backroom and had our own personal wait staff. The food was unbelieveable and they had the appetizer table ready to go when we got there. They have great Management (Morgan), and extremely helpful staff (Mandy). We got so many compliments on the food, the atmosphere, and the whole mood of the night. It was amazing.
