We got personalized napkins and coasters from this website and they really added a nice touch to our wedding decor. The website was a little tricky to use, but mostly because they had so many options. It's also a little pricey, but the stuff turned out so cute, I think it was worth it. Shipping was fast and everything came exactly as ordered.
After much stress and discussion, we approached this vendor about making our favors. We provided clear plastic bags, scalloped ribbon, and personalized tags and asked that they make us hand dipped chocolate covered pretzels in our wedding colors. They had never done it before but were more than willing to. After a sample run, we asked them to dip them with thicker chocolate, and they did! We provided all the supplies, and few days later, we picked up boxes full of beautiful brown, pink and white pretzels cleanly presented in the bags and ribbon we had provided. They loved it so much that they were going to start marketing the idea to engaged couples! We loved having our favor come from a local business in our hometown as well. And, most importantly, they tasted AWESOME.
I can't say enough about Patti at FALC. She met with my mom and I on numerous occasions to work out our ideas for ceremony, bouquet and reception ideas. She helped us work in our budget and would show my flowers similar to my taste that were more in season so that I could still get the look I was hoping for. The reception decorations turned into quite and ordeal, and she put up with many a phone call and email with a lot of patience. We paid her a little extra to set up the ceremony and reception sites, and it was all done just as we planned. The flowers were beautiful and vibrant and she was so easy to work with.
I actually found this vendor through another wedding website's "Illinois" vendor board. I emailed them and received a message right away and samples in the mail soon after. All of our business was conducted via email - including pictures of the proofs of the invite. I would often get a response from Sam within the hour. It was the first place I could find that I could afford letterpress. He helped me design an invite that matched my idea and fit the theme/colors of the wedding and was very flexible with my ideas. We were shipped the invites soon after we decided on the final copy and they were beautiful. We were thrilled with how they turned out and I thought his customer service was excellent.
The Studs were worth EVERY PENNY! They were fabulous, funny and played great music all night. Our dance floor was packed and we had so many compliments. It was a very worthwhile splurge.
We had the strings and trumpet for our ceremony and they did a beautiful job. They worked with the organist at our church and really complimented each other. They were very professional, on time, and easy to communicate with. My mom watches my wedding dvd just to hear the music!
Don't let my three stars fool you, I actually really liked this place. It is a blast from the past, right down to the shag carpeting. Many of my aunts and friends moms had shopped here when they were getting married! They were there for help when I needed it, but otherwise backed off and let me wander the store. The reason I gave it less stars was that there is limited selection in dresses and accessories and overall, the store is small, and it's difficult to shop if there's a lot of other people in there. However, I was there just as it was closing and reopening with new management, so things may have improved. I'm very happy to have gotten my dress from a legendary bridal shop!
Tracy was fabulous...I really wanted cupcakes instead of a cake and couldn't find anywhere that made something that fit the idea in my head. I went to the Metro Mart grocery store on the east side of Milwaukee and they had beautiful cupcakes - they said their cake designer had recently started her own business. We ended up meeting with Tracy at a local Starbucks where she brought a bunch of cupcakes to taste and pictures of her work. Not only were they delicious, but she's very creative and talented in terms of design. She's extremely flexible as well, and helped us achieve the vision I had. Not to sound cheesy, but the cupcakes looked truly stunning all set up and we had so many compliments on them. The only reason I give her 4 stars was that she could be difficult to get ahold of and would take a few days to return emails. Not good when you're a freaking out bride! But otherwise, she was wonderful, and everything was set up just as we asked.
The food we decided on for our wedding turned out to be delicious. It was actually the kind of food I wish I could go back and order again. The food was served at the right temperature, nothing was over done, and people truly loved it. The waitstaff was friendly and courteous as well. I can't say enough about them - they changed typical idea of "wedding food" completely.
I'm torn as to what to write here. When I first saw Cassidy's website, she was working under a different business name with a partner. I thought the pictures were beautiful and I loved the photojournalistic style. When we contacted her, her partner was moving, and she was going solo, which she said wouldn't be a problem for her. As we still liked her work and she was much more affordable than many other photographers, we hired her. Throughout the day, she seemed a bit scattered and disorganized, and didn't really have any original thoughts on pictures to take with our group. She had me fill out a sheet listing pictures I absolutely wanted, and many of these were never taken. Also, the volume of pictures taken was much less than many photographers may provide their clients. That being said, many of the pictures turned out beautifully, and we received many compliments on them. I guess it's always easy to look back and criticize, but at the same time, photos are essential - and you can't go back and do it over again. I believe we may have been her first wedding solo, so I'm betting things have much improved from here...my advice would to any couple hiring her would just be to emphasize to her that if you give her a list of certain pictures you want taken, make sure she knows that they need to be done and she needs to make the effort to get them set up. It's not your job to remember that day! Also, evaluate her work as a solo artist - I think their were many cool picture ideas that we could've done, but she just didn't have the experience to set them up. Overall, I have a lovely album and pictures, I just have a few gripes about it...
