The ladies at Not from a Box created an artful invitation that is custom quality without the custom price. Their method is awesome with all of the different styles and designs to choose from - sort of mix and match. It's overwhelming at first when you see all the choices, but they are also very helpful and give you suggestions and are just delightful to work with! They are very responsive, getting back to you quickly with answers to questions, recommendations for designs and final proofs. Everyone commented and loved the invitations. And Not From A Box does so much more - name cards, programs, menus, etc. I'm so lucky to have found them!
I LOVE my dress! Monica was wonderful - she helped me have fun! The place is a bit snobby overall, but Monica is very down to earth.
There was one thing that raised a great deal of concern for me. I am 5'11" and most wedding dresses are created for women up to 5'9" tall. I had to ask about adding extra length and the seamstress told me that it "would be fine." We had to insist on a hollow to hem measurement and sure enough, I needed extra length! We did not do any alterations there.
They certainly have a wide variety of dresses, but they do mark them up, so if you know the style you want, you may want to shop around. If you're looking for the whole bridal shop experience (think Kleinfeld), that's where you go and probably why you pay extra.
Could there be a better place to get jewelry than a family owned jeweler who used to own a shop in the diamond district of NYC and travels the world in search of the best pieces? We got all of our rings from Liz at Reflections in Gold. I am so skeptical when it comes to fine jewelry, but Liz knows her stuff! I take my engagement ring in to get it cleaned regularly. She says, "This is one of my rings, so bring it back often to get it cleaned and checked out." Her jewelry is like her children and I couldn't be happier!
Chris played music at our Welcome Reception the night before the wedding. We felt so lucky to find Chris Martinez! He is friendly and fun and hard working and extremely talented and professional. Just a wonderful person to have around and his wife is very friendly and helpful as well. He sounded amazing - EVERYONE at the party commented and some actually got his card to hire him. Sounded just like Cat Stevens! He NEVER took a break. We offered him food and drinks and he never needed anything and then afterwards when we went up to thank him, he was so gracious and friendly and fun! I can't say enough great things about Chris!
Amazing, amazing, amazing! Photography was the one area that I wanted to be picky and Socialite Studios is just as picky about photography as we are.
Joelle was extremely responsive leading up to the wedding. The photographers were on time for the wedding and took all of the pictures we asked. OK, so that's what you would expect from a good photographer.
But, this team is not just "good"! The creativity through their photography evokes the exact feeling that you want when someone looks at your wedding pictures. No matter what your style is, they "get it" - whether it's southern charm or urban chic. I don't know how she does it, but Joelle captures the essence of the event - that which you can't put into words and you can only feel through pictures. They read the crowd and get right into the middle of it to capture those moments you want to remember for the rest of your life!
Booking Socialite Studios was one of the best decisions I made!
John did my hair and the hair of my 3 bridesmaids and my mom. It was SO much fun! He is so creative! He did everyone's hair a very differently - to match their personality, not just the same canned up-do. We had a romantic Audrey Hepburn, a sultry Charlize Theron, a sassy Carrie Bradshaw and the hair styles lasted ALL night! Our pictures at the end of the night look just as amazing as the ones during the ceremony! Plus he's just as professional as he is fun!
I would give Rob a rating of 10 stars if I could! Rob goes above and beyond to make sure the bride and groom and their families are happy and relaxed. Even the other vendors like working with Rob!
For me, the best thing is that Rob really listened to me. He didn't just tell me the way most weddings go, but he took the time to meet with me and research the songs I requested. My guests loved the music during the ceremony - Rob executed flawlessly! Everyone had so much fun during the reception! Even my in-laws who are strict religious "non-dancers" were out on the dance floor!
So many guests told me that this was the most fun wedding they've ever been to! Many thanks to our DJ!
Wonderful tasting wedding cake! I was very disappointed in the lack of communication and disregard for my request. I notified COD twice about my cake plate and she just disregarded it, didn't make my cake so it would fit on the cake stand. It was a beautiful scroll design, but she just didn't care to do the very best for her customer. There are some vendors you just have to ride and constantly check in with because they just don't care much about your event. This is one of those vendors.
All of our guests agreed they have never had better food at a wedding! The food was amazing and the service was impeccable.
They brought us hors d'oeuvres when we were taking pictures outside and also saved us a plate when we sat down for dinner! That was the type of wonderful service on the day of the wedding.
The ladies you work with leading up to the wedding are just as wonderful! We had 3 different tastings, changed the menu a few times and they always got back to me very quickly to answer any questions I had.
I had one minor mishap that was corrected immediately!
Hire Beth and Shawna immediately if not sooner! Your event will be executed flawlessly! Everyone says there is no such thing as a perfect wedding. Well, they didn't use Flawless Occasions!
Leading up to the big day, I emailed Beth a lot to ask tons of questions, get advice and sometimes just to vent. She was amazing and sweet and always made me feel like everything was going to work out wonderfully.
Shawna ran my rehearsal and I was amazed that she was able to capture the attention of our easily distractable family and attendants. She was very organized and everyone liked working with her!
Beth and Shawna set up the venue and it was FAR MORE beautiful than I had imagined! I'm talking 1000% more wonderful that I ever thought it could be. Beth really took the time to get to know me and on the day, every single little detail reflected who we are. It was truly amazing to look around and just see me and my groom reflected everywhere. It was also comforting knowing that if anything went sideways, she has the skill and the saavy to manage it. I never imagined my wedding would be as beautiful or as relaxing as it was and the credit goes to Beth and Shawna!
The best decision, second only to deciding to marry my groom.
