The price per slice of cake was really good, the cakes were delicious. The downside-the owner, Joyce Swan does not deliver to Ruby Ranch Lodge, so we had drive to north Austin to pick up the cakes,(bride and grooms cakes) which were packed in several boxes, take it carefully to the venue, while I was having a nervous breakdown all the while, and then the worse part-WE HAD TO ASSEMBLE IT OURSELVES! The bride's father assembled them, and they looked beautiful. If you have a tight budget, it might be a good way to go, but it added a lot of stress to the wedding day.
They supplied food for the rehearsal dinner and and wedding reception, and it was fabulous. Their staff was great, the food was delicious, displayed well, and the prices were great. We had turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls and salad, as it was a January 1st wedding, and we wanted a holiday feel. One guest said "its like going to your grandmother's for Thanksgiving".
We used Sadie for the bridal photos and wedding reception. She did a beautiful job on the bridal photos, which were taken at the State Capital. We have yet to see the wedding photos, but I am sure they will be great. The photographer is also a delightful person to deal with.
I have not seen the video, as it takes several months for editing etc. Chad Nickel and his assistant arrived on time, were very professional, and I know they will do a great job.
The bridesmaids luncheon and spa day was held on December 31st, when they normally would be closed. The owner found employees who were willing to come in on a holiday, and they served a light champagne luncheon for the girls and were very good to work with. The place is beautiful, and convenient to the wedding venue.
The best wedding band in Texas! They play classic rock, and kept our wedding reception guests dancing ALL NIGHT LONG! They were the best part of the entire night!
