Cleopatra's Oasis did our bridal party hair and makeup. I (the bride) was very happy with the results but my mom was not very happy with her hair -- it turned out to be much flatter than she wanted and it lost volume throughout the day. They also overcharged us, but are refunding us the difference of what was originally quoted to us. They also double-booked another bridal party at 2:30 even though we were supposed to have the salon to ourselves from noon-4 p.m.
Nick and Keith are consummate professionals yet very laid-back. They shoot in HD and use a steadycam to give the video a theatrical feel. They are available for travel all over Alabama. I HIGHLY recommend them!
We went to the Top Nail & Tan location on Gulf Shores Parkway. The service was fast and efficient and the prices fair. They also had a special for the bride that included a leg mask and hot rock foot treatment. Highly recommend Top Nail & Tan!
The Beach Club did a great job with our food. everything was presented beautifully and everyone raved about the food. Even though The Beach Club does nto allow outside caterers, I still think the quality of their food is superb. We had the tropical luau buffet with some added extras like sushi and a chocolate fountain.
We used Cover Ups Linens to order chair covers and sashes, as well as organza table toppers and colored cloth napkins. Their prices are OUTSTANDING and their customer service superb. I highly recommend Cover Ups over local rental vendors. Their showroom is in Roswell, GA but they ship anywhere in the Southeast. We picked out our linens in person, which I would recommend if you can get to the Atlanta area. They have many options and we got a lot of compliments on our linens.
Virginia Morgan of Sun Coast Beach Weddings was our officiant. She also set up our wedding arch on the beach. She did well with the arch, but she does not do rehearsals, which I do NOT think is a good policy. She was very spaced out and hard to deal with in the planning process. The ceremony itself was nice but she is not easy to deal with.
Our DJs, Bill and Jeannie Akins of Clearwater DJ 7 Entertainment, were hired out by Sun Coast Beach Weddings for our reception. DO NOT HIRE THEM. A speaker was cracked, they played the same song twice, they messed up our wedding party entrance (mispronounced names, left out a groomsman and bridesmaid, etc.), and announced songs like a radio DJ, which was very strange. There was also pauses of up 1 minute between some songs. In hindsight I would have just hooked up an iPod playlist to a sound system and had someone start and stop it for us.
Marty at Publix made our wedding cake and grooms' cake. The only problem? Our wedding cake was supposed to be round and it came square! Fortunately Publix refunded us 100%. The cake still tasted and looked wonderful. As for the groom's cake, they forgot the German chocolate filling and did not do the design we requested correctly. But hey we got a 100% refund and it still tasted great.
All Island Flowers did a GREAT job with our flowers. Their prices are very reasonable. We also hired Sandra to set up our reception decorations and it was all BEAUTIFUL!
Donna and Eddie Morgan were our wedding photographers and they did a wonderful job! My only complaint is that there were a couple shots they didn't get that i would have liked to seen. Be sure to give your photographer a "must take" shot list or else you may not get everything you want! They also did our engagement photos. They are very professional and do great Photoshop work as well.
