Cedar's Flower Shop

Originally I was going to use candles as my centerpieces, only having one flower tied to a napkin roll at each place setting. I'm not really a big flower person, and I loved this idea of the individual flowers tied to napkin rolls (because it was a stationed buffet dinner) It was the idea I designed my wedding around. When the family and fiancé balked about my lack of flowers on the table, I started putting together photos of flowers I liked but never found the exact picture of what I had been envisioning.

After the first vendor our Wedding Planner hooked us up with fell through, (She had another wedding that day that got bigger and did not feel she could handle both, which we understood), we contacted Megan at Cedars Florist Shop. Megan had been an acquaintance of my husband, and she designed the flowers at the wedding he worked where he saw band we later hired for our wedding. During our meeting, Megan listened to all my ideas as well as looked at the pictures. She assured me she saw my vision. She was right.

The flowers at my wedding were nothing short of phenomenal. Megan was able to put together my unusual Ceremony pieces (Two moss covered Pedestals filled with flowers in theme which flanked the isle and the officiant) and then added in my theme for the flower cones that hung from my chairs. Before she went ahead with this idea, she called me to approve a sample. I was speechless when I saw she had made the cones and covered them with moss to match the pedestals. It really tied in the theme. She also showed me samples of the centerpieces, which were perfect and exactly as we had talked about.

My bridal bouquet was a very simple Lilly of the valley tied with leaves. I gave her a sample picture and she was able to duplicate it exactly. She never had any problem if I didn't take her suggestion and she really came through with gorgeous flowers that took everyone's breath away.

I encourage anyone getting married in the Vail area use Cedars. They have several of books to look through if you need ideas and they really can deliver what they promise and more. When people look at pictures of my wedding, they most often comment about the beautiful flowers.

Mountain Flour

After working weddings as a server for two summers here in Vail, Colorado.. I'd eaten a lot of wedding cake. Every Mountain Flour cake was decorated beautifully and always fresh. Not so with some of the others, so when I got engaged I immediately locked in Mountain Flour for the cake. I got a beautifully decorated cake that many of my guests raved about so much the next day, I had to serve some of my reserve at the Wedding brunch! (Yes, I ordered extra.) My favorite, the White Chocolate Mouse with Raspberries.

Moments Notice/Jerry Barnett Entertainment

My Husband saw this band (Moments Notice) at a wedding he worked at and knew they were the one. Our Wedding Planner had worked the same wedding and was able to book them for us. They have an extensive song list and will learn any song for your wedding. We hired seven band members including a female and male singer who played for about four hours. Be prepared to pay for at least five hotel rooms if you are bring this band to Vail, but they are worth every penny! Guests are still raving about them and everyone really danced all night.

We hired Chef Eric Berg owner of Vail Catering Concepts to cater our wedding and we could not have been more pleased with the quality, creativity, and the preparation of the food. The presentation and the service were outstanding. Many of our guests were from New York City and very familiar with fine cuisine. They ALL raved about the food! Eric did everything he promised and more. I don’t have enough words to adequately praise Chef Eric and his staff for the wonderful job they did. Eric is truly a gifted Chef.
