PROS: kandice is really wonderful to work with. after meeting with her, she sent me her quote within an hour. she understood & perfectly executed my idea for centerpieces using sprouting curly willow branches.
on the day of the wedding, everything was delivered on time & set up exactly as we had discussed.
the silk pomander balls were perfect for the flower girls and they loved being able to take them home & keep them.
CONS: my bouquet was very round, not loose & natural like the inspiration photo i provided. the bridesmaids' bouquets also looked really small to me. the boutonnieres were a little scrawny & fell apart. i wish the florist had suggested getting a second one for the groom (we can't be the only people this happened to). in all of the later pictures, his looks...droopy.
PROS: very nice and professional. i don't normally wear makeup, and i was very happy with how natural the makeup looked. also, they use all aveda skin products, which feel and smell great.
a very fun atmosphere for getting ready on your wedding day.
lots of room for everyone to relax and talk. the kids felt right at home.
CONS: expensive.
PROS: stunning job. if you have not seen their work, you need to. we (okay, i) searched high and low for the vintage look at an affordable price (most in the super 8 style cost over 5k).
in addition to the finished film (which is short) the dvd includes the full ceremony and all of the footage from the reception. they also gave us the actual tapes from the camera, so we have all of the raw footage from our day. very nice!
CONS: i was disappointed that they did not put our name on the dvd cover or on the dvd menu.
also, the whole planning process was pretty impersonal. everything was done via forms on the internet.
PROS: beautiful cake.
dark chocolate and peanut butter buttercream - delicious!
price was great.
CONS: they put the cake topper (two ceramic peaches) on its side, so the company's label was showing. not sure why, but i doubt anyone else noticed but me.
PROS: fantastic! everyone loved them. the dance floor was filled all night. priced well.
CONS: a little hard to reach before the wedding
PROS: trolley was adorable!! very sunny inside, and easy to get in and out of. they provided a big cooler of water & sodas for everyone. the driver of our trolley was great. there's actually a shot of him in our wedding video - singing with some of our guests!
CONS: the trolley was not air conditioned, which i did not think would be a problem in april, but it was in the 90's and we were roasting! it wasn't so bad once we were moving, though.
also, the trolley broke down that morning and it was 30 minutes late. we had some flex time in our schedule, though, so it all worked out.
fyi: we went to see their vehicles ahead of time, and some of them were outdated & would have been disappointing to me. whoever you use, take the time to check out the vehicles in advance.
PROS: very nice to work with. we showed up unannounced to take a look at the rooms, and the front desk people were really friendly while showing us around. the rooms are nice and spacious and have a microwave & refrigerator. nice, updated decor.
the location was great - halfway between our bethlehem ceremony & our reception in easton.
CONS: none really. fyi: turning left out onto 512 is really dangerous, but you can avoid this by going through the walmart parking lot and making a left at the light.
PROS: wonderful food, fantastic service! a great, private space for our rehearsal dinner. parking garage close by. it was great that our guests could stroll up and down main street and to hotel bethlehem after dinner.
we brought containers and they packed up all of the leftovers for us. we were able to bring it with us on our honeymoon (we stayed in a condo in lake placid), and enjoyed their food all week!
CONS: absolutely none.
PROS: exquisite work. perfect, really. and i am very very picky about photography. joe is worth every penny. please take my advice and spend your money on the best photography you can afford. it's what really lasts after the day is over (well, that and your marriage, hopefully!).
CONS: photos took a lot longer to arrive than initially promised (instead of 2 weeks, it was 2 months), but they are so beautiful it was worth the wait. i just wish i had known, because the suspense was unpleasant.
also (this is not the photographer's fault), but i wish we had paid for the second photographer. it's asking too much of one person to capture every shot from a wedding day.
