Tomme Hilton is amazing. She is creative, funny, nice, and a pleasure to work with. Her prices are reasonable and she is willing to work with your budget. My only complaint is that I've been married for a month and I still don't have my pictures. Other than that, she is a great photographer and she'll make sure that everyone is having a good time.
We decided to go with Seacoast Church because we don't go to a church but my parents go there. We were assigned Jim Miles as our officient. His assistant whom you must make appointments with isn't worth two cents but Jim Miles is amazing. He is so friendly and down to earth. I really wasn't looking forward to our ceremony that much but he made the ceremony the best part of the whole day. He really is an amazing person and we were so glad to share our day with him.
I chose the florist based on the recommendation of a local wedding planning service and they were right on. Karen, the owner of OK Florist is wonderful. She sat down with us multiple times to discuss what we wanted and gave us great ideas. We decided to give her creative control after discussing our colors and what look we were going for and she really went above and beyond. My bouquet was so incredible that I took it with us on the honeymoon. I couldn't leave it behind. She was really willing to work with our budget and give us what we wanted. We were thrilled with the service and quality that we received at OK Florist.
Although Charleston Place is one of the most beautiful and grandiose places to stay in Charleston, I gave it three stars because of the snafu's that we kept having. We used valet for one night and were charged for 4 nights, we were told that we would receive a complimentary bottle of champagne and they charged us $50, and lastly, my mom gave them her credit card so she could pay for it as a gift and they gave my husband and I the bill before we left. It was one thing after another with them. My best advice is to watch out for extra charges because they are most definitely going to try and sneak them in.
Vintage Velvet is a great band... if you can get them to call you back. We put our deposit down with them but could never get a hold of them. Finally, just a few weeks before the wedding, they called to say that they couldn't do it. They returned our check and recommended someone else. However, if you can get them to commit, they are incredible.
Leah Suarez saved the day after our band bailed out. She was able to put together a wonderful three piece band at the last minute. She sung all of the songs that we requested, including our first dance, and her voice was sultry and beautiful. We are so grateful to her for coming through for us.
I believe DJ Rob Duren sent someone in his place. This guy didn't MC at all unless I prompted him and didn't seem to know what was going on. The night raced by and I had to keep telling him to announce things.
