Elizabeth's Cakes did an impeccable job on our wedding cake. The design and colors were exactly how we wanted them to look, and we received so many compliments on how wonderful it tasted. Elizabeth was fun and easy to work with and she was able to offer an expert opinion on the design of the cake. Best of all, the price was very reasonable in comparison to other Milwaukee-area bakeries. I was very impressed with Elizabeth's Cakes all around and I would recommend her, hands down, to any bride!
On the day of the wedding we were pleased with the most of the food and service provided by Zilli's but we were not at all impressed during the planning process. Zilli's was not willing to work with us on a custom menu even though they boasted their flexibility when we first met with them. They do offer several menu packages for couples to choose from, but if you want to change something in the package the cost suddently skyrockets. In our case, we wanted to eliminate the passed hors duerves to save money. Instead of allowing us to deduct the cost of the appetizers from the total package cost, Zilli's told us we would have to purchase everything else a la carte, which was much more expensive than the original package cost WITH the hors duerves. In addition to that, they raised our prices by 5% a month before the wedding. Additionally, the appetizers were fantastic, but the chicken dinner was very dry. Overall, we felt the price was too high and they were not at all "flexible" like they had promised. Everything worked out okay, but if I had to go back and select a caterer again, I would definitely choose a different vendor.
Sound by Design was perfect all around! Our DJ, Ramsey, was so much fun and played a great mix of oldies and new songs that were all great for dancing. He did a fantastic job of getting the crowd involved in a tasteful manner (without making it feel like a dance club). He and his assistant were well-dressed and very professional... and they were sweet enough to congratulate me with a hug at the end of the night! Overall, SO much bang for our buck!!
Flowers were very important to me for my wedding day, and Urban Sense far exceeded my expectations! I wanted a unique modern look with bright summery colors, and I got the most amazing bouquets and centerpieces I've ever seen! Although I was probably a bit difficult to work with (I changed my mind at least 4 times) these guys were very accomodating and met with me as many times as I needed. They offered great ideas and helped me select the perfect flowers. Thanks to Urban Sense, the florals were one of my favorite parts of the whole wedding. I also did my homework when it came to prices, and Urban Sense was much more reasonable than others. As a whole, I loved everything about Urban Sense and wouldn't have changed a thing!!
I had a very early ceremony and needed to start hair appointments at 7 a.m. Neroli was the only salon that would open early to accomodate all of us so we could all be ready in time. 7 stylists volunteered to come in early to do our up-dos and they all looked gorgeous! Neroli is a little pricey, but it was well worth the money - especially since everyone's hair held up perfectly throughout the 17-hour day!
