Kathy works out of her home in Conroe. She did a wonderful job on my bridal cake and on the groom's cake as well. The cakes were very good and she was a pleasure to work with.
My six bridesmaids and my flower girl all got there hair done at RK Hair Design. I practically have nothing good to say about this location, besides the fact that they were very friendly when I called to make the appointments. I made appointments for two different time slots; 9am three girls went and at 10am the other three girls went. After my girls arrived, on time, for their appointments some of them had to wait. Only two of my girls actually mentioned liking their hair. My sister/maid of honor was burned by a curling iron. My best friend/other maid of honor brought a picture of the hair style she and I wanted her to have and her hair came out looking nothing like it. Both groups said that while they were there the owner, who styled two of my bridesmaids hair, was complaining about having so many bridesmaids there! Which to me is very unprofessional/pathetic, because the shop is not up to date at all on the inside, they are way over priced, and all of the "hair designers" seemed to have not clue what they were doing. I simply would not recommend this salon to anyone. So they get 1 star for being nice to me on the phone.
I went to a different salon to get my hair done, because as the bride I felt it was important to have a little time to myself the day of. Claire Ward did my hair. We did a quick trial run the day before. It was pretty much a rough draft that she through up and took down in about 15 minutes. Even though it was unexpectedly quick she did a good job and I definitely got a good idea of how my hair was going to turn out. Her price was the same as the RK Salon that I mentioned, but her price was deserving. It was a very nice salon, nice people worked there, they offered me a drink every time I went in and they had little snacks. Although I had to make a 30 minute drive, it was most definitely worth it. I leave 1 star off only because I initially had some problems getting a hold of Claire and her returning my phone calls, but my godmother called and got it all straightened out. I know this is a fairly popular Salon so plan to book far in advance if you want your whole bridal party to get their hair done there.
Jamie was/is great! I would highly recommend you check out her web site. Her takes amazing photos and is a joy to work with. You can see some of the photos from my wedding on her blog. I was married in October 2008. It's titled Christyl and Ryan's Wedding. She did my bridal portraits as well as my wedding day photography. She get's a full 5 stars!
Gilmore's is a family owned florist shop. It's older but it has a lot of sweet charm. I was happy with all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. We didn't have any big floral arrangements done by them, but what we had them do we were very happy with.
