He claims to be the best in town but I have to wonder how the others are. I don't know that he's worth the money. We had a cocktail hour where I provided him with all the music, he then repeated this music during dinner. I provided 2 hours of music (cd I burned) to the DJ, who in my mind should provide it all. The sound quality was good except that many of my guests could not hear him. I was unimpressed with his lack of follow through, for being "the best DJ." I contacted him every time, reminded him that I do not live in the area (which for the price we paid, I think he should have noted somewhere) and had to repeatedly try to get ahold of him in order to make sure he had the information I needed him to have. He also repeatedly mispronounced the grooms daughters name, which we corrected him on several times and reminded him of before the wedding. My guests were happy with the music and we all danced the night away but I think any dj could have played the music I picked.
Salon Nyla is an Aveda salon in the Embassy Suites Hotel where we stayed. My mom kept telling me she thought I should do my own make up and I kept insisting I needed to get it done for my wedding because of lighting and photos. And because it was my wedding day so I wanted everything to be extra special. My mom, myself and a bridesmaid got our make up done and we were so unhappy. I did speak to the owner the following day and she was very apologetic and gave me a gift certificate so that was nice although a little too late. I expected the aveda salon to provide fantastic service with a knowledgeable staff. I have recieved better makeovers at the makeup counters at Nordstrom. The lighting was horrible where I got my makeup done, I had to go into a different room in order to see what the makeup looked like so I had to wonder how the girl knew what she was doing. Anyway, I was pretty scared for awhile because I actually hated the makeup. The girl doing my makeup was not knowledgeable at all about the products or the technique to use the product. Finally, she was able to get the makeup right but I really expected to be brought in and taken care of. My mom had a problem too - the girl doing her makeup didn't know what the color marroon was. She did not take direction well and did my moms makeup way too dark, which my mom had asked her not to do. I should have gotten a trial run but didn't think it was that necessary at an Aveda salon.
Eric was our photographer and Ramona was the 2nd photographer. Wow! they were fantasic! The guys liked him, the girls liked him. He was calm and smooth and got the pictures taken in a quick fashion. They listened to what I wanted and worked with me on our package (don't be afraid to ask for what you want!) Our pictures are so beautiful! Our slide show is amazing. Holland Studios is definitely worth the price!!!!!
I needed some alterations on my dress but didn't know where to go where I live. My friend suggested Anna's Bridal, which she used for her dress, so I called and asked if they could do all my alterations the week of my wedding. My dress was done in 3 days. They were awesome, once I made my appointment I didn't worry about my dress at all. I wish I knew of Anna's Bridal from the beginning of my wedding planning!
