My family has been going to this establishment for over 20 years. We felt that this restaurant was perfect for kicking off the wedding festivities. Unfortunately, they were absolutely difficult to work with. They refused to sign a contract guaranteeing anything. They attempted to overcharge us. Then, during the dinner they squeezed 75 of us into the room with no air conditioner and every time we opened the door to let air flow, they shut it. After all of that the following day (my wedding day) I came down with food poisoning (norwalk virus). I wasn't the only one affected by this, half the people from the rehearsal dinner came down with it. Needless to say, that was the last time my family will ever step foot in that restaurant.
We didn't use the main DJ (Pete Pershall), but the backup DJ was fantastic. We had a multicultural wedding and the DJ read the crowd and played music to get everyone on their feet.
We chose this charity because of their assistance to children and families fighting cancer.
Karen was wonderful. She understood what I wanted and when the flowers arrived on the wedding day, she informed me well in advance that some of the flowers had not opened and gave me wonderful suggestions for alternatives with no extra cost. She also provided me with a free throw bouquet. Again, no problems with this vendor and I have suggested that all of my girlfriends go to her.
By the time we tried to book Ollie the Trolley, they were sold out, so we went with their affiliate Dunn Transportation and got remarkable service. We mentioned the add in from arizonaweddings.com and got a free ice cooler filled with bottled water. We were able to store our champagne and beer on there during the ceremony. It was our perfect was of showing up with our wedding party (total of 16 including bride and groom).
Kate and Scott were wonderful. Our original photographer went MIA with 6 weeks to go before the wedding (he took our deposit and ran). Kate and Scott were completely understanding of our fear of it happening again so they met with us the day before the wedding, we were coming in from NC, and just went over what we were looking for. They got the pictures that were most important and were creative with our formal pictures. Everyone commented at how great they were during the picture taking session.
I reserved this photographer over a year in advance and six weeks before the wedding he no longer returns emails, phone calls, or my money. I reported him to the BBB and hope that no one in their right mind ever goes with Tim Hoak again.
