Finding a photographer that is easy to work with, makes you feel at home and also produces phenomenal pictures is sometimes hard to find. Finding such a photographer in a country where you are hosting a destination wedding is often harder to find. Pedraza Produciones was all this and more. We met with them first a few months before our wedding where we took some engagement pictures. They were so easy to work with, flexible and made us feel like models. Then the day of the wedding since we had already met them and felt comfortable with them, they blended in so well with the wedding party that they were able to get great pictures. The best part of it all was how quickly we received the pictures after the wedding. A week after the wedding, a small sample of the pictures taken were on their blog. Then one month after, all the pictures they took of the big day were ready. We were so thrilled that they were able to capture so many special moments and also complete the job in such a timely manner.
The band was wonderful. It was so great to be able to have a group live playing a lot of hit songs.
Although we had a general idea for what we wanted the wedding reception to look like, there were certain details that we hadn't finalized. We went to the office of Alcyra de Guevara to choose those final details. Although we left choosing tables, plates and table cloths to work with, we didn't feel that they were the ones that we truly loved. Later that day, we were able to see another wedding reception set up and fell in love with their details. Our wedding planner took pictures of everything and sent it to Alcyra de Guevara where they were able to recreate everything exactly as we had seen and as we wanted.
We were truly impressed with the work done by Florarte. We had sent them an idea of what we were looking for in terms of flower arrangements, and when we went to meet with them, they had created what we wanted so that we could see it first hand. They were lovely to work with.
We knew that we wanted the room to have a certain pink and purple glow to it and they made it happen. We were so happy it was exactly as we wanted.
I found out about Caribe Cordial though a google search. It can be very nerve wrecking to hire a wedding planning company when you are in a different country and have never had the chance to meet them before.This all being said though, we were very happy that we chose Caribe Cordial to work with. They made all our dreams come true.
Daniela Lopera, the planner we worked with, has planned so many weddings it seems that wedding planning is clearly second nature to her. She had so many ideas and pictures to share with us that I felt that I didn't have to come spend so much time on pinterest looking for ideas. She was incredibly patient with all of our questions and demands and made sure that we were getting exactly what we wanted. The days leading up to the wedding, everything was taken care of. She had individuals assemble our welcome bags for us so that we didn't have to worry about it and also deliver them to the different places our guests were staying at. She was constantly available via phone and whatsapp and made us our sole priority. She also graciously added other small surprise details to make our wedding even more spectacular. We cannot thank her and the crew of Caribe Cordial enough for all the work that they did to ensure that our day was perfect!!
I have to be honest and say that we had our doubts on whether or not to incorporate the crazy hour into our wedding. We are so glad we did though. It served the exact purpose that Daniela said. The crazy hour started towards midnight when people were starting to get tired. As soon as the crazy hour started, it was like the wedding reception had just started again. Everyone was dancing, singing, drinking and having a good time. There was an immediate wave of energy that entered the room and ensured that the party continued for a few more hours. The crew for Ekobios danced with everyone, handed out props and brought so much joy to the party that we are thrilled we did decide to add this in the end.
The DJ was perfect. He played all the songs we had requested in a list we sent prior to the wedding in addition to a number of requests that he received from the crowd. This was an international crowd with half of the guests from Colombia and the other half from the United States, so we were incredibly impressed by his ability to please everyone.
Choosing music for a religious wedding ceremony can always be a little daunting. Felipe Madariaga made it easy! He showed us all the different options we could choose from and also showed us modern songs he has played in religious ceremonies before. We decided to go with traditional latin songs for many of the required songs and then also incorporated "The Prayer" by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, as well as "Marry You" by Bruno Mars. He made it all work and sound beautiful and we are eternally grateful!
Elsy de Figueroa made sure that the desserts for the wedding were excellent. I had sent her a picture of wedding cake that I had liked and she was able to replicate it exactly how I wanted. She made the most delicious passion fruit cake for us to have while we cut the cake and then also had a number of small desserts for our guests. We had such a fun time trying all the different desserts that she has to offer and it was almost impossible to narrow it down and only choose a few to have the day of the wedding. Everyone commented on how delicious all the desserts were and loved the fact that they had so many to choose from.
