If I had to do it all over again, I'd absolutely book the Cakery. The staff was so friendly and more than willing to help whether it was in person or via phone or e-mail. We brought in a photo of what we wanted our wedding cake to look like and they absolutely nailed it. We dropped off our cake stand, topper, and decor from the florist the week of our wedding and they delivered and set everything up without a hitch. The cake and buttercream are unbelievable - it is actually hard to pick a flavor. We are still getting compliments from our guests on our wedding cake months later. You absolutely will not regret booking the Cakery!
Booking this DJ was so simple & their online portal made planning easy. The owner Chris, was responsive and helpful every step of the way. However -- our DJ was not. I had to track him on my way to my rehearsal dinner to make sure everything was set for the next day. He was rude and short with me on the phone & again at the reception when we introduced ourselves. Our wedding party announcements were completely butchered - some names were announced twice, some no times. Our cocktail hour & dinner hour playlist that we spent weeks on & specifically asked them to play was not played. When the groom & brother of the groom went and asked the DJ to play it for the rest of dinner, he played 2 of the songs and went back to his own agenda (the playlist had Queen, the Eagles, the Beatles, etc. and hip hop and my first dance song was being played instead). None of the dance floor songs we requested on the portal were played either--guests were complaining to me because they sent in RSVPs with song requests & there were also many songs I requested that I wanted played at my wedding since I was a little girl. Overall, I had a fun night because my family & friends are amazing. However, the DJ is a sore subject and we were incredibly disappointed. They were the one and only thing from the entire day that was not satisfactory.
We are so happy to have been able to work with Jaimie. We were originally drawn to her portfolio because of the way that she uses light in her photos. She literally walks around, face to the sky, following the sunlight... and she is SO good at it. Our photos are all beautiful and look more like art than two very awkward people (yes, that's me and my husband) posing for cheesy photos. She takes candid shots that perfectly capture all of the emotions of the day, but is also a rock star at corralling your family to get those important portrait shots in, too. Jaimie was so helpful in choosing locations to shoot, she was a Godsend when it came to figuring out the wedding day timeline, and she was more than willing to jump in & help with wardrobe, flower, and cake cutting fiascos. We are so happy that Alex was there to capture our wedding day. She was so helpful and responsive during planning and was honestly just the sweetest and most laid back person to have around during all of the wedding chaos on the day of. Alex is unbelievably talented -- our wedding highlight video somehow captures every single emotion from the day, perfectly, in about 3 minutes. I was very intimidated in regards to wedding flowers because I know literally nothing about flowers in general, but Colleen was amazing. She put me at ease the very first time I met her because she listened so well and tuned into my vision right away. She is very knowledgeable, makes suggestions without being pushy, and works to stay within your budget. When our flowers were delivered, I was in awe. They were bigger/fuller and more beautiful than I had imagined. We were actually one boutineer short but this hiccup was dealt with so quickly and gracefully that I did not even flinch... the missing boutineer was delivered to our ceremony venue (where an alter arrangement--also GORGEOUS--was being set up) and it was waiting for us when we got there. I would absolutely recommend Colleen and the rest of the Always in Bloom staff!
Our wedding transportation went off without a hitch. Maggie at Discover St. Louis was so helpful in helping us figure out exactly what type of shuttles we needed for our wedding party & for all of the hotel guests, and she was always quick to respond to all of our questions. The booking process & scheduling was easy, the shuttles were clean, the drivers were awesome, and everyone was on time everywhere. Overall, great service & pricing.
