Immediately after we decided on having a destination wedding, my husband and were ecstatic about choosing Cartagena, Colombia as the back drop. At the same time the idea seemed a bit nerve wrecking because both my husband and I are "A Type" personalities. We really enjoy hosting events, and are
"Big" on details and organization.
I would also like to add that I worked a few years in Wedding and Event planning so I was well aware of the details of planning a wedding…
After doing a good of amount of research on my own on venues and a few local Wedding Coordinators (which I do recommend you do). My gut told me to go with Caribe Cordial. We were fortunate enough to travel to meet Daniela from Caribe Cordial twice before our wedding. During our meeting I will never forget how she told us, "There is no need for you to stress on your wedding day, and the idea is for you to be guests at your wedding". I now understand what she meant by that the day we met her, she truly owned up to that comment.
We had the pleasure of working with Daniel for about a year.
COMMUNICATION: Thanks today's technology we were able to frequently be in communication throughout the entire process. Do keep in mind that you aren't their only bride so trust them in the process and timeline as our wedding got closer the communication got more frequent and detailed.
VISION & PROCESS: Caribe Cordial will guide you and provide you with various options of venues, vendors and their portfolios for you to take your time and carefully decide on such things as Photographer and Videographer. As for vision Caribe Cordial will ask you for your vision, it is up to you to give be specific. We were extremely impressed on how the day of the wedding everything looked exactly like the pictures we had provide (Maybe even nicer)!!!
PRE-WEDDING EVENTS: We had Welcome Cocktail the Thursday before our wedding and Day Trip to an Island on Friday. Caribe cordial assisted us in organizing the welcome cocktail and even provided someone from their team to be there with throughout the event. As for the Island trip they also helped up make the reservation for our group of 100 guests.
WEDDING DAY LOGISTICS: I never imagined I would be so calm the day of my wedding. I think my husband was more nervous than me. Caribe Cordial had an adequate number of staff to cover different areas of the event set up and all of the logistics, I always had someone available in case I needed something. Daniela was also available via text if I had any concerns or questions. During the wedding every detail and all of the logistics were taken care by them. They took charge in making sure everything was properly executed as we had previously discussed. Scheduling the Photographer and Videographer arrival times, Organizing the wedding party at the Church before the ceremony, Procession after the church, Introductions, First Dances, Speeches, Cake Cutting, Hora Loca, etc. No one in the Bridal Party or parents had to worry for a single thing. It was truly impressive how they stayed until the end to make sure nothing went wrong and that we were pleased.
OVERALL:
All of our guests commended us on the organization of the entire event! Caribe Cordial truly helped us pull off "Our Dream Destination Wedding" of 140 guests! (Let me add that we only had about 25 guests from Colombia) We never imagined we would have that many people so make sure to invite wisely!
