DJ Joe was great! Though we gave him a Must Play list, he was able to gauge from the guests’ participation on the dancefloor what music he should play. He played many of our requests but also used his judgment and kept the party going until 2am! His interruptions were few and far between but when an announcement was required, he did it concisely so the guests could keep dancing. Nice guy, and he dealt with my concerns very well.
Jayne’s cake was absolutely delicious. Our one requirement was no fondant and her icing is an amazing Swiss Buttercream that tastes just like butter! She designed the cake just like we had imagined it and we had many comments on how good it tasted.
Rather than going with a limo, we decided to have rickshaws transport the newlywed couple and the bridal party to the photo location and then to the reception. It was drizzling on our wedding day and I was second guessing our decision but it cleared up just in time! The rickshaw drivers ran us around Ottawa – and we had many honks and waves! They had music blaring and they would jump up every once in awhile to make us scream. It was fun and unique!
Brittany and Derrick were wonderful. They made us and the guests feel so comfortable that we all forgot there was a camera in front of us. They were respectful of our wishes and zipped through the formals quickly so we’d have lots of time for bridal party shots. They blended right in during the reception and ceremony. Haven’t seen any shots yet. Not cheap but definitely feels worth it!
I was hesitant to go with Zeina initially because I had read a negative review online but I couldn’t be happier with the results when I did choose Zeina. The alterations department elsewhere had told me to come in months in advance for my first fitting which wasn’t going to work for me as I was out of town until a month before the wedding. Zeina was easily able to accommodate my timeline and had the alterations done within a week and a half! She really knows her stuff and is very efficient during the fittings – I was in and out of the dress within 15 minutes. She added a bustle which looked great and held up all night, and she took in the sides of the dress so that it fit me like a glove. Her prices were great, too!
I picked Shannon after having two trials with other makeup artists who just didn’t feel right. Shannon was so sweet and really listened to what I wanted – and perfected my look after just one attempt at the trial! Highly recommended.
Brittany was so cute and friendly at our initial meeting. She was willing to accommodate my needs and wants for my flowers and kept in contact with me throughout the planning process. The flowers were gorgeous – but the magnets she used for the corsages detached a few times throughout the evening and I had to trim a bit of greenery from my bouquet as it was (deliberately) sticking out, which I didn’t like.
