We chose Caribe Cordial because of the strong recommendations on Wedding Mapper, their competitive rates, and their prompt response to our initial inquiry. Leading up to the wedding, Daniela and their staff were very nice and responsive to our questions and requests. She seemed to be good at negotiating rates with vendors, but wasn't great at helping us live within our budget. We had hoped for a wedding planner who would take care of any minor issues that emerged on the wedding day. However, Daniela and her team approached the bride with all of the problems. Instead of solving these problems, the bride had to come up with solutions. Daniela was our primary point of contact through the process, but on the wedding day it was a junior member of her team who accompanied us along the stops before after the wedding reception. The junior member stressed easily and was ill equipped to answer questions or problem solve. With her experience, we think Daniela would have taken charge of the situation more effectively. Throughout the wedding day, there were many missing pieces, including forgetting to schedule a time to toss the bouquet. The bride had to talk to Daniela about organize this.
Our guests really enjoyed the food. We did buffet-style and it was very affordable in comparison to other rates from other vendors. The wait staff was A+, very attentive.
The good: She was very affordable in comparison to other decorators; the ceremony decoration looked beautiful.
The bad: She was very unresponsive and didn't really focus on the wedding until a week or two before the wedding. She only provide centerpiece samples until two days before the wedding when it was too late to change anything. She added random flowers (of colors we didn't agree on) from her backyard to the bouquet at the last minute. One of the bride's biggest frustrations was that she requested a body-length mirror for the bedroom where the bride was getting ready so she could see herself with the wedding dress. Rosa brought a ridiculously large mirror that couldn't be brought inside the room. As a result, the bride did not see herself with her wedding dress and we were still charged for a mirror that was not used :(
We knew from the beginning that we wanted to hire Efeunodos because of their unique style and they didn't disappoint! Vicky was very professional and calm during a hectic and stressful time during the wedding.
Our only recommendation is to send them a list of people that you want to make sure you have pictures with so you don't miss out (i.e. a picture with your grandma, etc).
The hair and makeup looked great but unfortunately it didn't last. Advice to the brides: Get a hairstyle that works with the very humid weather.
One of our favorite parts of the wedding. Guests were thrilled! They were very professional and made sure that all guests participated and dance. If you are doing an Hora Loca, definitely invest in Ekobios!
He was awful. He put Pandora during the dinner portion and we realized that when we heard commercials during dinner. If we wanted to use Pandora, we would not have hired a DJ! He was rude to the bride and the guests, and he was generally in a bad mood during the reception. You want a DJ to pump up your guests not be in a bad mood. He was part of the rate for the band, Orquesta Manhattan. We really loved the band so if you hire the band, make sure you are not stuck with this really bad DJ.
The lights looked good but Victor didn't provide adequate number of fans. We were very clear that we didn't want our guests to be too hot at the reception and we didn't mind getting more fans than needed as long as people were not hot but at the end, this didn't happen.
Great band! The music was amazing. From the first song, people were on the dance floor. Music was very important for us and they didn't disappoint. The only downside was the DJ, but we'll do a separate review on that. If you hire them, we recommend that you make sure they don't put Victor as the DJ. He was awful.
