My husband and I were wed at Cabo Azul in San Jose del Cabo this mid-October- our wedding fell one day after Hurricane Paul. As lovely as our wedding day ended up being, the weather the day before was crazy. The streets of San Jose del Cabo were flooded and many of the restaurants were closed for business. When we realized our original restaurant was closed for the day I sent my husband and his two brothers out to town to find a place to hold our dinner just hours before the event. We had 35 hungry guests joining us, so basically needed a restaurant that would save the day! Within an hour of searching- my husband and his brothers came back with great news, they had found the Corner Restaurant and Bar!
The brothers that own the restaurant basically shut down the entire place for our group and treated us like family. We knew the reception dinner the following day was going to be much more formal, so we wanted something more casual and laid back for our 35 guests.
We ended up offering chips, salsa and guacamole as well as a Taco Bar (including chicken, pork and fish tacos), with unlimited beer and margaritas. The taco bar had a bunch of amazing sauce and salsa options too- which were full of flavor and a big hit amongst our guests. The tacos were absolutely amazing, the service was unbelievable and the fact that they threw all of this together for us in a couple hours was incredible.
I would absolutely recommend the Corner Restaurant & Bar- my husband and I can’t wait to return for more tacos.
Habenero's is simply the best! Our 35 wedding guests loved our post wedding brunch at Habanero's this October! I worked closely with Christine several months prior to the event in order to reserve a portion of the outdoor patio, as well as select five dishes off their excellent brunch menu (100 pesos per plate). An addition to the main dishes, each plate is served with coffee or tea and a side of fresh fruit; we also offered our guests unlimited mimosas, bloody marys and bloody cesars, bottled water and juice (they are about $3.00 each- a pretty amazing deal).
Since my husband and I were footing the bill we wanted to make sure that we chose a restaurant that was close to the resort where we were getting married (Cabo Azul- which ended up being a $5 dollar taxi ride or 10 minute walk), but also had great reviews because as crazy as it may seem neither one of us had been to Cabo prior to the wedding, so we were hoping for the best when we arrived :) My sisters and I visited Habanero's a couple days prior to the brunch and were blown away by how amazing the service was. Even more than the service, the food was delicious- the presentation of the food was beautiful and the food was prepared fresh with loads of flavor.
Christine was nice enough to let me come thirty minutes prior to the event to set out menus that I had made, as well as decor and fresh flowers- she supplied the vases. When our guests arrived they were greeted by the staff with trays of mimosas. Our guests all raved about the food- I think the breakfast burrito was a big hit, but as a vegetarian I thought the Florentine benny was the best- all and all everyone loved the food.
I would definitely recommend Habaneros to anyone staying in the San Jose del Cabo area. Christine, the owner also mentioned that they are opening up a new restaurant in the upcoming months closer to the plaza, which I am sure will not disappoint. I can't wait to go back and visit!
Gabriela Mohar is the best! One of the biggest decisions a bride and groom most make during the planning process, is choosing the photographer because once it is all said and done, your pictures will be all you have to remember your special day. Well, choosing Gabby as our photographer was one of our first decisions and quite possibly the easiest choice we made over the 10 months of planning. Unlike some of the other Cabo vendors we worked with during our planning, she was always super responsive and attentive to our needs. If I ever sent an email to her, I always received a response, usually the same day and this alone is one of the many reasons that I would happily refer to Gabby along to any brides planning a wedding from afar. Before the big day she asks you to send her a list of photos that you would like to be shot, so that you are completely on the same page- I know this put me at ease, so day of I knew I didn’t have to be concerned about missing any details being photographed. I am not sure if this is common, but she actually brought a second photographer along with her day of, this was definitely not in our contract, but again just another reason why Gabriela is beyond amazing.
Day of she showed up right on time and began to shoot- because she was familiar with our venue, this helped as far as knowing hidden spots to take pictures, where the best lighting was etc. Because this was our first time meeting her, I was a little apprehensive that it would take us a minute to warm up, but she made us feel at ease immediately. Throughout the event she remained present, but not in the way, so that our guest could go about the wedding feeling comfortable. She followed up with me a couple times to make sure there wasn’t anything that she missed, which was appreciated. She was so sweet that toward the end of the night, it was me that was telling her to go home; otherwise I think she would have stayed longer, even though we only booked her until 10:00pm.
We just received our sneak peek photos (about 100 images) and they are amazing. I can’t wait to see the rest of the images! Book Gabriela and I promise that you won’t regret it.
