Dianna, Ramona, and Wai’s vision, teamwork, knowledge and connective networking are truly exceptional as they worked together to make our wedding day a successfully smooth and stress-free event for my wife and me. Ramona Char was the key proponent in accomplishing this. My wife and I coordinated with her closely up to the day of the event with last-minute arrangements, decisions and requests. Ramona kept a cool demeanor and a positive, cordial, professional attitude and approach to all situations, which kept my wife and me in comfort as we entrusted her to handle all the decision-making that came up on the day of the event—because of Ramona, we were able to thoroughly enjoy our special day. Ramona listened carefully to what we wanted and managed and organized exactly what we needed. It was quite amazing after just meeting us a month prior to the event. She was very easy to contact and extremely conscientious, responsive and available (emails, phone calls, meetings, etc.).
My wife and I actually decided to bring aboard the Hawaii Weddings & Events team extremely late in the planning process—a little more than a month out from the wedding day—based on the shortsight that we would be able to handle the planning process ourselves. However, once we engaged them, Dianna, Ramona, and Wai began intimately familiarizing themselves with our event and commenced pulling things together right away. They are all very personable, cordial, friendly, knowledgeable and professional, which made the planning process an easy, pleasurable and fun process. Ramona worked very hard to make sure that everything down to the littlest of details was in order, addressed and set to go. Ramona made sure that all of the vendors were coordinated and all of their services provided effortlessly.

Phil’s enthusiasm and passion for tuxedo and formal wear rental are unparalleled. He is thoroughly knowledgeable in formal wear and has extensive experience in the formal wear rental field. He was patient and helpful as my wife and I took our time to decide on … then change our minds … then finalize our decision on styles and colors. He offers many different styles of sharp formal wear at reasonable prices, and works to provide the customer with what is desired with respect to the event and budget. Unfortunately, the quality is sometimes not up to par as the stitching on the sleeve alteration was coming off my tuxedo, a button fell off, and for my brother-in-law’s wedding a few years back (he also went with Phil’s Tux Shops), a light stain a few inches in size was discovered on my vest upon its pick-up and Phil was unable to get a replacement in time. Fortunately, the stain was light and hardly noticeable. For my wedding, the fitting went well; however, the sleeves of the coat were a bit long upon its pickup a couple of days prior to the wedding. Phil was able to finely alter the coat within a day, well in time for the wedding. The groomsmen tuxedos looked sharply neat and had no problems, concerns or setbacks. Phil’s Tux Shops is well air-conditioned; however, the store is relatively small and quickly becomes overly crowded, especially if your event is planned to occur close to high school prom season. After patiently waiting, the customer receives good service with full attention. All-in-all, the experience was good and my wife and I would recommend Phil’s Tux Shops to all brides and grooms planning their special wedding day! –Mike and Kristen N.
Evan’s vision, artistry and uniqueness are second to none. He was flexible and delicately designed and arranged gorgeously vivid floral arrangements for our wedding at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel. He was cordial, friendly, patient and listened closely to my wife Kristen’s needs and wants for our wedding day. He met with us on several occasions (including sessions with our other florist—Fong Tagawa of Floral Inspirations Hawaii—and specialty linen vendor—Naomi Lee of Les Saisons) to make sure he completely and intimately understood what we wanted and needed. His designs and compilation of the VIP tables were absolutely breathtakingly stunning and he effortlessly incorporated handblown glass centerpieces from our friend into the arrangements and flawlessly coordinated his work with the guest round floral centerpieces by our other florist, and specialty table linens. His vision and artistry really shined to make our wedding day special and the talk of all our family, friends and guests!
