Paper Studio

Our experience with the Paper Studio was quite stressful and upsetting. We are baffled by the unprofessionalism we experienced from the owner, Cheryl Cogan. Here was our experience:

Upon placing the order for our invitations, we asked what the policy was if we needed to order more in the future. Francis, the lady assisting us, informed us that its not a problem but they only come in bundles of 25. We thought great, we'll keep that in mind. A few months past, and as we were finalizing our guest list we decided we wanted to order an additional 25. On June 6, 2011, I phoned Paper Studio to place the order. Cheryl answered and immediately told me that the cost for and additional 25 invitations would be about the same cost for the 100 invitations we previously ordered. I then explained to her that we were not informed about this and shared with her the conversation we had with Francis. She insisted that we were informed because all of her employees know to tell their customers until their "blue in the face" (her words) about this policy. I became quite annoyed at this point because she was essentially insisting that I was lying. She went on to further mention that she would check email correspondence to verify that it had been mentioned. Thankfully, I too had kept all emails received from Paper Studio and upon verifying, she later admitted in a conversation with my fiance that no, it was not mentioned in the email. Her business failed to inform us of a very essential decision-making policy of theirs and then she had then nerve to deny their mistake. She also made very unprofessional comments to my fiance about me. She commented that I was "in a bad mood" when I phoned and that I was "looking for a fight." That is not my character, but REGARDLESS, that is not how business owners should speak to their CUSTOMERS. She also at one point began mentioning personal family issues regarding her children - my fiance quickly reminded her that it has nothing to do with our discussion. Again, shocking, unprofessional behaviour.

We really wish she would have told us from the start because we most certainly would have ordered more just to be safe. As a result, we were stressed to have to cut back our guest list as we absolutely refuse to give them any more business. We are still planning on having other stationary done for our reception such as menus and bookmarks - we will certainly be looking elsewhere to have these done. We're grateful to have found this blog - hopefully this will spare other couples some grief.
