Harp Music by Spenser

She is a awesome Harp player. I saw her first at the Hy-Vee Conference Center Bridal Show, which was great to hear her play. She's not at all the Hy-Vee Bridal shows, just wanted to let you know. She nice and down to earth and is willing to help you with selecting music for our special event. She's very affordable in my opinion, in the Des Moines, IA metro area, which was about $325.00 for an indoor wedding in 2012. She is great to work with and if you like harp music then use you talents for your next event.

It's a mom and daugther partnership company. They did my wedding cake, sheet cake and my guest favors, which were frosted sugar cookies for my wedding reception. The taste and design of the cakes/ cookies was right on point. they are flexible and willing to help you in any way possible to give you want you want! (No fondant, but butter cream, but they can make the cream smooth so it look somewant like fondant!) Very good service!

Here is their face book web link for more info, but need to log in of course:

It all depends on what you consider "is affordable", with photographers, but from all the other photographers that I saw at Bridal Shows in the Des Moines, IA metro area, which they weren't there, I felt that they were for me.

The package that I went with was about $980.00, which they have more to choose from. If you do choose from a package deal, with them, there are some exta bonus you get with no additional charge. They do charge extra for fixes towards images, but that is always the case.

They did my engagement and wedding pictures. They are very friendly and go all out when it comes to customer service. My contract with them for the wedding/ reception part was only 5-6 hours of coverage, but they stayed the whole time throughout my whole reception, which is rear. They are a fun and lively husband and wife couple and are worth to see for yourself!

Master Griller Catering

They did my meal for my wedding reception. It depends on what you consider "is affordable", with caters, but they were for me. Exspecially in the Winterset, IA area. I don't know what the prices could be now, but it all depends on what you want in the meal (choice of meat(s)/sides, etc.) and when the event occurs. For my June reception of 2012, the cost per plate for each person, with them was about $10.75, which wasn't bad at all. They do have an extensive catering menu, so go to their website for those details.

The customer service was good, they weren't bad at all, but there was one thing, that I wish could of happen differently. That was with a choice of meat, (Grilled Chicken Breast). It was fine, but not what we tasted when we first started the process with them. Just ask enough questions about the cater's business and also ask about what choice of meat or meats do they, (the cater's) feel would be best for your event or so. You do have the choice on what you want to do, but since they have catered events before, and what works best, it's nice to know for sure if it's a wise choice or not.

Smokehaus Stockade

It's a small family business. They did my meal for my wedding rehearsal dinner, which tasted great and was affordable. Very friendly and willing to help with any detail possible. Customer service was great as well. Cost all depends on what you want for your meal and how many people are going to be involved in the event. What was nice, when I worked with them, was that they included in their service: set up, servers, service ware and cleanup of buffet area. (Service ware for my event, was just basic plastic plates/ utensils).

(The only thing I would want you to know, if you want to due business with them, is that your total number of guest for your event needs to be at least 40 and up.)

Hart's Bridal

2013-01-03 20:31:42

Shirley Hart is the owner of the bridal store. The store doesn't look like David's Bridal or Shaffer's, but if you want an affordable wedding dress, within the Central/ kinda Southern Iowa area then go to this place. It's a small town homie store and they have their dress covered in bags and not all tangled togther in some cases in other stores. She is willing as well as her assistant to help you in the best way possible and willing to answer all your questions. I love love and love my dress for my wedding. It was glorious!

The Wright Place - Special Occasions & Event Center

I had my wedding reception here, which was great and affordable. It's nice and spacious. It can accommodate for several different events, other then receptions. The customer service is great and they do the setup and tear down of your event, (you just need to clean up the stuff you brought and throw away the garbage, but they do the rest). the dance floor is portable, so if you don't have a dance at your event, you don't need to worry about unusable space. Plus there is paved parking on both sides on this venue, which is awesome as well. It's worth looking into for the Central Iowa area!

Markey's Rental & Staging

2013-01-03 20:31:42

Michael Young is the person to talk to. They're a rental and staging company, that does business with The Wright Place Special Occasions & Event Center in Norwalk, IA with the AV equipment rental, if you want to do business with them.

For our wedding reception, we didn't want a DJ, just because our families didn't dance and we were at a pervious wedding reception, in which people didn't dance that much and thought it was a waste of money. So I went with them because it was convenient in terms of location, being fairly close to the reception venue, plus affordable for what we wanted them to provide. All we needed from them was a basic sound system with speakers that could provided ipod music throughout the space and microphone for our annoucer, and also a slideshow projector with stand. We had greater customer service and they have many things to choose from, so take a look!

I used her alteration services for getting my mom's veil up to date without having a cap and instead putting a comb to go in my hair. My mom also used her services for her gown alternations, which turn out get. Great customer service and afforable too! Well worth the price.

David's Bridal

I used David's Bridal for just Bridemaid's dress. They have quite a number of affortable dress for them, which is great! Plus having all of my bridemaids in different states helped me, because they could go into their local David's Bridal store, which was awesome and convenient! For me they were great on customer service. All my bridemaids got their dress fairly quickly.
