Beautiful cake and easy to work with. John is really a no hassle type. We got a mini- wedding cake for about $16.00. The mini cake was enormous, it could probably feed 8 people. Overall the cake was moist, the frosting was delicious and not overly sweet and the fruit filling was fruity, not sugary. The cake was delivered on time and looked great. That's about all you can ask for.
After a minor hiccup when I first booked (the photographer I picked had to back out because his brother got engaged and picked the same wedding date, go figure). The manager was very nice and accomodating for the change I had to make. I had two photographers for 12 hours. I was amazed at how many great pictures they got. There really wasn't a bad one in the whole bunch! I just finished editing my wedding album online and it looks great. They are really worth the cost. Other photographers don't have nearly as many experienced professionals as Essence. The photographers were incredibly nice. I just went to another wedding this past weekend and the photographer, while professional, was not very personable. Essence really has it all!
The chef and Danielle are great! We wanted a unique menue of tapas. The chef was really creative and made some wonderful food. Other vendors did not want to venture outside of their comfort zone or were unwilling to work with us. This location was very helpful and really understood our goal. The only reason I did not give five stars is due to the wedding staff on the day of my wedding. The waitstaff did not provide the head table with champagne at the time of the toasts (everyone else was served first). Considering my husband spent a 1 1/2 making the champagne we were really disappointed by their omission. The staff also was very slow. The meal was intended to be family style but the staff brough out each dish separately which caused the meal to take nearly 2 hours! Overall, the meal was wonderful, but the staff could use a little help.
