Sweet Dreams Desserts

When my husband and I decided we were going to get married in Elgin, IL, choosing our bakery was a no-brainer. I already knew I wasted to do cupcakes so Sweet Dreams was the first place I thought of. The only hard decision was narrowing down which kind to get! All of their cupcakes are delicious but we decided to go with the chocolate ganache (my personal favorite) and vanilla. My meeting with the owner, Deanna, to finalize the designs only took about 10 minutes because her first suggestions were great and she mad it so easy. They can pretty much match any color you want for frosting, and add personalized designs as well. We went with a more standard approach--white rose design on the vanilla cakes and green hydrangea design on the chocolate cakes. We had lots of guests comment on how pretty they were, and how delicious they were, of course! The prices are very reasonable as well: $1.60 per cupcake, with up-charges for delivery or stand rental. They also do traditional wedding cakes, which I've heard are just as good. Overall, I would highly recommend Sweet Dreams to anyone getting married in the Northwest Suburbs or DeKalb/Sycamore area.

Town & Country Gardens

We visited several florists in the Elgin/Geneva area before making our decision to use Town & Country Gardens to do the bouquets and mother's pins for our wedding. Their Wedding & Events Specialist, Jamie, was fantastic! She was organized and very easy to work with. I only had a vague idea of what I wanted (colors, size) and she was able to take my scattered ideas and turn them into beautiful arrangements. The bouquets were delivered to our venue before we got there and when I walked in and saw them, I was blown away! I'm so glad we chose T & C Gardens and I would definitely recommend them to anyone getting married in the area.

Joseph's Hair Fashion Salon

My bridal party and I had our wedding up-do's done at Joseph's. Amber did a great job with my hair! She really took the time to get it exactly how I wanted it. She was friendly and easy to work with. I got lots of comments throughout the night about how pretty my hair was. Several of the other hairstylists did the hair for my bridesmaids. Out of the 5 bridesmaids, 3 were happy with their hair and 2 were not. The two that weren't happy with theirs we were able to fix with just a few extra bobby pins and some hairspray. Nothing major needed. Overall, everyone at Joseph's was very nice and I would recommend this salon to anyone getting married in Elgin.

Chapel in the Pines

We had originally booked Jeffrey Petersen to perform our ceremony in Elgin, IL, but when we needed to change our ceremony time a month before the wedding, Jeffrey could no longer do it. We were bummed because we really like Jeffrey but he recommended David Glick, another officiant for Chapel in the Pines (http://www.chapelinthepines.com/officiants.html), and it worked out great. We are not religious people so we had very specific ideas to not include anything religious. We had already worked out all the details of the ceremony with Jeffery and David had no problem stepping in and doing exactly what we had already put together. He was very nice and personable and not one of those officiants who tries too hard to be funny or entertaining. He came prepared and performed our ceremony as if he had written it himself. He was also very calm and laid-back, which was a great influence on both of us since we were so nervous! He is a seasoned professional and I would highly recommend him to anyone, whether you are getting married at Chapel in the Pines or anywhere in the DeKalb/Sycamore/Northwest suburbs areas.
