Denise with Beauty-on-the-go overall did a good job at our wedding, but here is why two stars off. Denise did my + 4 bridesmaid's hair. When I first booked her, she said that she'll start around 11:30 am (ok - should be enough time to finish everybody's hair since the wedding starts at 5 pm). Closer to the wedding when we finalized the exact time, she said she'll try to arrive at 12:30 since she has another event in North Tahoe, but may be late due to traffic. We had a hard stop for me at 2:30 pm, where I had to be ready to take pictures, and for all the girls at 4 pm. I was really concerned that we'll be pressed for time, but was assured that it won't be an issue as long as all the girls are ready to get their hair done when it's their turn. All the girls were ready. Denise arrived shortly before 1 pm, my hair wasn't finished until 2:30 (nor was i dressed or had my makeup on), the last girl got done at 4:45 pm. It really added a lot of stress to the whole day which is usually pretty stressful as is. My advise - finalize all the times before booking otherwise your schedule will be at your hair stylist's mercy.
Overall the hair turned out well, but not perfect. I suggest having a dry run (which we didn't). I think Denise was trying to match the picture that I sent her too much, without looking if it actually looks good on me. I was mortigfied when I saw my hair at first. With some corrective actions that I asked her to do, it ended up looking good, but not perfect. I highly recommend doing a trial run to avoid any disappointments later. The hair held up pretty well all night.
For the girls hair I envisioned loose curls (I didn't want the just off the curling iron look). Overall their hair turned out well, but also wasn't perfect. It still looked a bit stiff. I think it would have been better if she used large curlers rather than curling iron.
Owen was our DJ at the wedding and we absolutely loved him. We was ready with all our songs, and had a nice line up of song we didn't request. He started off dinner with light Jazz, and then after dinner had the crowd going with great line up of dance music. We had a blast!
