Christine the owner was very friendly and easy to work with. When I had some last minute changes, Christine was right there to help sort them out. The flowers for my wedding from Lily in the Valley were beautiful. I wish I could post photos here to show you.
After contacting several of the on-site hair & make-up people on wedding wire and not having any luck (since it was just hair & make-up for me and hair for my daughter, it guess it wasn't worth the trip) I called Red Sails. I scheduled my trial hair with Jane who was great. I had forgotten my reference pictures for the trial so I had to describe what I wanted and she was spot on. Later that week, I emailed the pictures to the salon and they said they would give them to Jane. On my wedding day, I arrived and Jane had the pix and my hair came out just like I wanted! I had my make-up done there as well and I was really happy with it as well.
I have to start off by saying I'm one of those brides who isn't looking forward to the photography part of the wedding. Both my groom and I aren't fans of ourselves in photographs. However since it was my second wedding and I hated the stiff ultra-posed photographs from my first wedding; I knew I wanted a photographer who would add some fun as well as intimacy to our photos. Well we got that and more with Jessica. Jessica was very flexible when it came to our engagement photos. We had to reschedule several times and it was never a hassle. The day of the wedding, Jessica was a bit early so I was able to take my time getting ready and she had time to get the shots she wanted and more. Jessica is a very natural photographer in that she is never in your face with the flash. After the initial 'getting ready' photos, I hardly noticed her taking pictures. Jessica also made sure to ask us if there were specific photos that we wanted (i.e. siblings, certain group of friends). What we ended up with were beautiful natural photographs that both my husband and I love!!! We also think we look pretty good. ; )
I want to start by saying I LOVED MY TENT!!! Initially we booked the tent in case of rain since the ceremony, cocktail hour & dancing were in the garden of our venue. Three days prior to the wedding I decided to cancel since the forecast looked clear, plus I thought it would just be a blah tent. The owner, Joe Sr., actually contacted me later that day when the forecast started to turn and asked if I would reconsider. He was very thoughtful since he was familiar with the venue and didn’t want an unhappy bride with guests stuck inside because of the rain. He wasn’t pushy in any way and said it was ultimately my decision. Well I decided to go ahead with it and honestly can say it was one of the best decisions I made. The guests said it added that something special to an already beautiful venue. I wish I could post a picture.
I first discovered Steve at another event I attended as a guest. When I got engaged I knew I had to hire him for the wedding. Steve has such energy it gets the whole crowd moving. He was also really great to work with. He helped guide us through the planning of the ceremony and the reception as far as the music was concerned. He made sure to ask us for a play list as well as a 'do not play' list. Since we didn't go with the whole 'show' (i.e. tons of announcements, garter removal, bouquet toss, etc.), Steve made sure we worked in the first dance, any special dances w/other family members (I danced with my daughter who was my maid of honor). He even got my husband (who notoriously does not dance) up on the floor a few times. Steve is a really great DJ and I would definitely recommend him.
