This is located less than one block from El Convento on the same street. Very close and convenient to everything in Old San Juan. If you prefer your own kitchen, washer and dryer this is the perfect place for you. The owner is very kind and easy to work with.
This restaurant and bar is located in El Convento. We served our guests tapas and sangria. The manager was very accomodating and provided a special menu for our party at reasonable prices. They have the absolute Best Sangria! The empanadillas were a hit with our guests as well.
Magnets are a great idea for save the dates. These were in high demand from guests and family members. We should've ordered extras.
Raul created our invitation, escort cards, program design to reflect our style. Once he created the design. I ordered paper, envelopes, envelope liners, place cards from mountaincow.com and printed the invitations myself. For the response cards we used postcards that had a vintage poster of Puerto Rico. The flowers we had for our ceremony and reception were stunning, with bright vibrant colors. I had worked with Festivo via phone and email, sending them photos of what I wanted and they delivered. Festivo could improve their customer service - email turn around was not consistently prompt. It took over 2 months to finalize the quote. Also, I was overcharged a few hundred dollars and after bringing this to their attention, it has been 30 days and the matter is still not resolved.

This was the best thing I could have treated myself to on my wedding day. I just sat back and relaxed as Caridad did my hair and make up. I recommend doing a trial and day of hair and makeup. She can also do hair / makeup for the bridal party as well. She has experience working with brides of many nationalities, races and hair textures. She also does hair/makeup for the local news station. Caridad is very friendly and easy to work with, best of all she comes to you - no need to travel to a salon on your big day.
Nestled in the heart of Old San Juan, El Convento is a small luxurious hotel with old world charm and character. The staff (front desk staff, manager, restaurant servers, housekeeping)at El Convento provided the highest quality service. It seemed like everyone knew our names and guests names. We felt pampered, the turndown service-chocolate on your pillow, free beverage lounge - wine, tea, unlimited water was a nice perk. The scenery is serene, relaxing with a beautiful courtyard. The location is convenient for shopping, and sightseeing. When we went to the beach in Condado had access to accomodations at El Convento's sister hotel La Concha (towels, chairs on beach ,pool, bar, restaurants, etc...) I couldn't ask for more. El Convento is worth every penny.
Everyone loved the cookies! These were the perfect favors, because they were delicious and were local. I emailed the company and ordered a few samples to see which cookies I preferred. I ended up going with an assortment. Check out the website (its in spanish) photos are helpful. Call or email the company (very nice, and spoke english) I recieved quick turn around with email. If you get on their mailing list they have discounts 10% or more off their products.
DJ Allen "Baakspen" Johnson was the best. He is the ultimate professional. Experienced, organized, knows how to keep the crowd going - as they were dancing non-stop. No wedding planner needed during the reception, Allen was great at keeping things running smoothly and on-time. His transitions between the toast, first dance, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc.. were flawless. He gave us a CD of songs played at the reception for us to remember our special day.
