HORRIBLE! The customer service as this salon is bad. The morning of my wedding it was pouring rain. I had my veil and my hands full of bags. The girls at the front desk just sat there and watched me struggle. When I finally got in they told me that the stylist who I had been working with was "no longer with them!" What?! So the day of my wedding I had my hair done by someone I had never met before and she didn't do a good job at the style I wanted. My hair fell flat and look blah, but the time I got the the reception. Everyone is merely cordial and sometimes not even that. The culture comes from the top and the owner is rude and unpleasant to deal with. I almost went to another salon for my hair and makeup, but I finally perfected my look with a certain stylist after 3 trials, the stylist who was no longer with them. I spent close to 30 minutes in the bathroom there crying and then they had the nerve to get on my case about starting late and having to rearrange other appointments for me! The didn't seem or act apologetic. They actually seemed indignant. My experiences at C'est La Vie, the owner, and the staff was awful. I'm completely disgusted with this place.
David and his staff are very easy to work with. David has great creative ideas and has the versatility to produce many different styles. My only complaint is that he is a little more expensive than others around.
I had high hopes for these guys and they surpassed my expectations. Dave Elgart Music is a band/DJ combo group. We used them as a instrumental trio for our ceremony and a jazz quartet for cocktail hour and the reception. One of his musicians is also a professional DJ and the quartet goes back and forth with the DJ during the reception. It was awesome! The transitions were completely seamless and the music selection was perfect. It's a perfect choice if you can't decide between a full band and a DJ. You have the live music element, but it's significantly cheaper than a full band and you still have a DJ to make sure that every song out there is accessible to hear. It was just great music all night.
Our ceremony ended up starting an hour late and they played the entire time the guests were waiting. It was like a concert! Our guests actually thought we had planned this full concert before the start of the wedding. Choosing Dave Elgart Music was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!
