Our wedding reception was held at the Ranch Resort and it was one of the best decisions I made for our big day. Jane made sure every single detail was perfect. The food was delicious- the chicken was amazing! The servers were prompt and courteous, the bar tenders were professional, and Jane really does go out of her way to make sure everything runs smoothly. I have nothing negative to say about the Ranch Resort. The interior is laid out unlike any ordinary reception hall. They provided a quiet area for my family member’s baby to sleep, wheel chair accessible entrance which was perfect for my husband’s 92 year old grandma, and comfy couches for tipsy people to kick back on! If you want to have a wedding reception that all your guests can enjoy, this is where you should have it. The overall ambiance was warm and relaxing.
Yvonne, the owner of this company is incredibly knowledgeable and very professional. The flowers on my wedding day were gorgeous and vibrant. Obviously you won’t be saving money if you opt for real flowers on your wedding day, but you get what you pay for and Apple Blossom Flowers are stunning. Unfortunately, I can’t give this company, 5 stars even though I wish I could. My center pieces on the day my wedding, were not supposed to be my center pieces. I had purchased large round vases and had arranged with Yvonne to have 5 large, red, Ecuadorian roses in each vase… when I arrived to my reception I noticed 9 small red roses in small square vases. The looked a little cheap and definitely not as impressive as what I had originally purchase. I never contacted the company because what was done was done. Center pieces didn’t affect my day at all, but unfortunately, it wasn’t what I had paid for. I hope some other bride enjoyed my gorgeous vases and flowers.
The location we dealt with was in Peterborough, Ontario. Moores makes it very easy to choose and rent tuxedos and I’ve never heard anything negative about this company. The Peterborough location is a lemon. The lady in the store decided that a white tie for my groom and groomsmen on my wedding day wouldn’t look right and changed it to a black bow tie. I had to visit the store several times to get it sorted out. She was rude and ignorant. We had booked the suits MONTHS in advance and gave our down payment. When we had originally done this, the cummerbund was supposed be no cost, but when my groomsmen picked up their tuxes “the policy had changed since the down payment” and were each charges $20.00 more than they were originally told. I don’t have a problem with Moores. My Groom and groomsmen looked amazing, but I will never return to the Peterborough location.

The DJ we got from Macmillian Group was Josh Hicks. He was absolutely fantastic. My guests danced all night long. Everyone raved about the song selections and the only complaints we received was about all the sore legs the next day! Josh was also an excellent Master of Ceremonies and I’m so glad he was a part of our Wedding day. From the moment we contacted Macmillian Group, they were great. The online tools they have on their website for clients are easy to use and make choosing songs a cinch! We met with Tim Macmillian within a few days of contacting the company and he was very professional. We were very pleased with the additional options they gave for lighting effects, ect. The price was competitive and definitely worth every penny in the end.
I guess I’ll start with what I liked about this company:
The driver was very courteous. He treated my bridal party like royalty and he was on time. The limo was very clean and looked great. The red carpet was a great touch!

DON’T HIRE THIS COMPANY!!
This was my wedding day. In the morning my bridal party and I were driven to a spa and then we were taken back to my home to prepare for the ceremony. The driver left to grab a coffee because it was still 2 hours before we were supposed to be taken to the church, which would have been fine but 20 minutes before we were expecting to leave for MY WEDDING CEREMONY we received a call from the company saying that the limo got a flat tire on the way to getting his coffee and he wouldn’t be able to pick me up for MY WEDDING CEREMONY!!!!
My mother, father, three bridesmaids and I had to stuff ourselves into a Dodge Ram and do 160KM to the church. Makes for a great story and looking back it was hilarious but an incident such as thing could potentially ruin some ones wedding day.
Why didn’t they have a spare tire? Well apparently the got a flat a couple weeks prior and didn’t replace the tire they used. Shouldn’t a TRANSPORTATION company ALWAYS have a spare tire???
Anyways, the limo showed up at the church after the ceremony and managed to take my bridal party to the reception.
We received $200 off the $900 we were supposed to pay. Not exactly a great deal.
I understand this situation probably doesn’t happen ALL the time, but from one bride to another, don’t take the risk. Finding out the limo wasn’t coming was the most stressful part of my wedding day and it could have easily been avoided if they were a responsible company.
