Divisi Strings played before the ceremony as guests were arriving and during the ceremony. They were very professional and everyone enjoyed the music.

The rehearsal dinner was really fun and the food was simply wonderful. Lots of fresh oysters, steaks, chicken, fish served Cajun style and spicy!! Laura along with Becky and Pat, the owners, provided a great place to start our celebration. If you haven't been to McAdoo's you're really missing out. It's amazing how Becky has transformed the old post office building into a restaurant. What talent!!!

Very easy to work with and provided nice buses to transport guests between hotel, wedding site,to reception and then back to hotel. Again, the day before the wedding, we had to change the reception venue and they were supportive and worked with us on changing the routing and timing of the buses.

Pony Parties by Dawn

To add a little touch of Mexico to the wedding, we had a "tequila donkey". For this we contacted Dawn 210-421-2386. She brought one of her sweet miniature donkeys to the wedding ceremony for the entertainment of all. The children as well as the adults loved the donkey who was all dressed up with flowers for this special day. Typically in Mexico, after the ceremony, the mariachis, the donkey and the wedding group walks the streets of the town while sipping a shot of tequila in a toast to the new couple. Our donkey was more for show and didn't hold the tequila bottles as they do in Mexico.

Cathy Young Cakes in San Antonio

Cathy was very nice to work with. We had no idea what we wanted and told Cathy to have fun and pick the flavors. John didn't want a groom's cake but my family loves cake. Sooo... we had 11 cakes - all different sizes and flavors topped with flowers to feed 350.

Steve was great to work with -he provided the flowers as well as the lighting. The lighting was originally planned for the outdoor venue by the river, but due to the weather and the change of venue to McKenna Events Center, he had to rethink the lighting. All of the vendors knew this was a possibility and planned for this possible change. Flowers were gorgeous and the lighting was fun and festive - just what the bride ordered!

David and Lori couldn't have been more helpful both before and after the wedding. I didn't want "artsy" shots, but preferred more traditional angles and they accomodated my preferences.

Illusions Rentals: the rk group

These people are amazing - they've been in the catering business for decades and their professionalism and quality of food shows. We worked with Dawn who helped us plan the food stations and the arrangement of the stations on the property. But again, since we had to go to Plan B, the McKenna Events Center, due to the rain, they made the adjustments in the layout of the food and bars, one day before our wedding. Again, only professionals could pull this off. Food was wonderful and displayed beautifully.

Los Galleros

2010-10-19 09:05:01

Lauren lived in Mexico for several years, so this was her touch of Mexico that she added to her wedding, along with a tequila donkey. After the ceremony on the river, the mariachis played for the guests before going to the event Center. Los Galleros were good but we were disappointed that only four of them showed up to play. We thought we were paying for the whole band of eight to come. They were not easy to contact and would not easily return phone calls or emails.
