Black Eyed Susan Florist

Black eyed Susan Florist was very easy to work with and is welcoming to your ideas. They are extremely friendly and personable. They provided beautiful bouquets and a gorgeous arrangement for our cocktail hour room. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted for the "focal point" in the cocktail hour room so I kind of left it up to them, and they did an amazing job. The complaint I do have, is they did mess up on my bridesmaids bouquets. I requested yellow calla lilies to be in my bouquet, as well as the bridesmaids, but they werent included in the bridesmaids bouquets. There must have been a miscommunication when we first ordered. The bouquets were beautiful, just not what I wanted. I do recommend Black eyed Susan Florist, but to avoid a mistake, I would call to to "confirm" exactly what you are expecting. They do not write down what you order on the order form they send to you (i.e. exactly what type of flowers they are using). To avoid mistakes, they may want to start writing down the exact order on the order form they send you.

Chesapeake Strings

Chesapeake Strings worked out great! They are a younger group which means great price but STILL great quality! Elizabeth is extremely friendly and easy to work with. We had a catholic ceremony and she helped us work through the parts where the strings would play and where our church organist would play. They showed up on time and played beautifully. We booked kind of last minute, but it was no problem for Elizabeth. They have easy forms to fill out with the exact music (or type of music) you want. Great price, friendly service, beautiful music... I would definitely recommend Chesapeake Strings!

Amie Decker Beauty

I had JoAnna to do my make-up for my wedding and it turned out beautifully!! I really didn't know what I wanted, and I don't wear much make-up on a daily basis, so I was nervous to have someone do my make-up on the most important day of my life! JoAnna did a trial with me, and it helped me see what I wanted for my wedding day. She did a BEAUTIFUL and natural make-up job on me and my bridesmaids and mother. I highly recommend JoAnna. She also helped me stay calm the day of my wedding (and also wanted me to stand up and say exactly what I wanted for other things that day). She said "this is YOUR day, you tell people what YOU want." It was nice to have someone backing me up! I got a lot of compliments on my make-up and would definitely use Amie Decker Beauty, esspecially JoAnna again!! I highly recommend her!

Kimberly Brooke Photography

Kim is not only an amazing photographer but she is a great person! I am writing this review even before I see the professional wedding pictures b/c I am that confident that they will turn out amazing. She takes beautiful shots from all angles, not just posed boring pictures. Kim mentions in her bio that her "goal at the end of the day is to feel more like an old friend than a hired vendor" and she "feels the day has been a huge success if I get a big hug from you at the end of the night and you seem totally relaxed to leave on your honeymoon knowing we just shot a beautiful wedding." She definitely fulfills her goal!!! That is exactly how I felt at the end of the night. She is so relaxed and calm but will make sure she gets the shots she knows you want without being pushy. She truely makes you feel like she is a friend not just a hired photographer. Her prices are definitely a value for cost! She has a package that is flexible to your needs for your wedding day. Some photographers penny pitch you for each additional hour you need them. Kim is also up for anything... she even got up to her knees in the freezing cold Chesapeake Bay water in the middle of November to get a picture! She didn't think anything of it, she just took her shoes off, rolled her pants up and got in... just to get 1 good picture! I was impressed! Thanks again Kim :) Kim is just overall a good person and an amazing photographer. I would definitely recommend Kim for wedding and lifestyle photos!

MyDeejay

MyDeejay is great! We had Evan at our wedding and he was amazing. He felt out the crowd and played the songs that the crowd wanted to hear. I gave him some "direction" but for the most part I left the music selection up to him, and he did a great job. The dance floor was packed the whole evening and he avoided the "typical cheesy" wedding songs no one wanted to hear. He is also a great person and even stopped over at our table during the wedding to see if we needed anything. He knows A LOT of vendors and gave us great recommendations when we were first starting out our wedding planning. Evan gets booked early, so if you want him (he owes the company) then book early, but I am sure his other DJs are as professional as he is. He is very flexible and even came to us for our first initial meeting. It was great b/c usually you drive all over the place to meet with vendors and he made it so easy for us. MyDeejay also has all the forms to fill out online. You can do them all on your own time. They have music selection online so you can chose your "must plays" or "do not plays" right online and even hear the song if you want! It is great and REALLY helpful. Other than the initial meeting, we only needed to talk to Evan on the phone once more and he was all set with what he needed. Made it easy for us, since wedding planning takes up so much of a couples time. BUT he is there to answer any and all questions whenever you need him. His wife Jennifer is also very helpful and super friendly. If you want a fun but professional (non-cheesy) DJ, Mydeejay is exactly what you are looking for!
