The most fabulous cake in the world! NOT your typical bland wedding cake, the Cake Lady does moist, delicious cake in a million possible flavors. We opted for five flavors of cupcakes, with a topper for us to cut and save. The cost is more than reasonable, too!
Sarah and Lucinda were absolutely fabulous, and they made sure the day went flawlessly! They contributed fun ideas for the decorations that really pulled everything together and made things look so polished. Lucinda is a designer as well as a planner, and she took over the programs, menu cards, and all the printed things-- and it was just genius! Most of all, they were a great mix of open to my ideas, and also coming up with their own. they know a lot of the local vendors in the Mystic and CT area, so they were able to arrange things at a great cost and took so much pressure off of me. I highly recommend Sarah and Lucinda!
The music was pretty good, but I have to say I can't wholeheartedly recommend these guys. I spent a long time coming up with a must play, don't play list, and the music was not what I really wanted-- I had to ask the DJ twice during the ceremony to get back on track! Also, he started the father daughter dance announcement and song WHILE MY DAD WAS IN THE BATHROOM! Without checking to see that we were both in the room, in other words. It was a small thing, certainly didn't ruin the party, but it was clumsy and unprofessional. Also, he started the last dance while *I* was in the bathroom, so I almost missed our last dance of the evening! I think this is the one area I would do differently, if I could do it again.
Nancy at Tommy's Flowers was just outstanding! They came up with a cost effective solution that was all I could have dreamed of. The favor bouquets, the carrying bouquets, the centerpieces... it was all simply gorgeous, and so me! I am not a girl who knows flowers by name, so I just could give them a feeling and some colors to go by-- that was no problem, they designed a wonderful look for all the florals.
GREAT site. If you prefer spontaneous shots to the more formal, posed kind, then this is for you! Pro photojournalists who tell your wedding story in a compelling, different way. Our photog, Jeff Jacobson, got many unposed shots that really made the day come alive. I know we will love these for years to come. One drawback-- my mom wanted posed formal family pics, so we did some, and they did not come out very well. I knew that wasn't the forte of the photographer, but it was still a bit disappointing.
