Alan Ray is a family friend and a great photographer. He really worked with us and our crazy wedding day schedule!
They captured the ceremony well other than 10 seconds of black screen. No coverage of guests' talking to camera at reception which I expected to see. Completion of videos took several months. Cover of DVD cases included some not-so-great photos.
Audrey did Bridal party make-up. We had her come and set up at our house to make the day easier for us. She did a great job.
We held our rehearsal dinner at The Miller House. They also catered our reception. Food service at the dinner was dissappointing. Food tasted great but took so long to serve that guests were asking. We had guests pay for their own alcoholic beverages and cashing out their checks also took way too long. Reception catering was better.
Mary Beth Tignor is a family friend who made our wedding and groom's cakes. I think Laval's has since sold to another company so not sure if she is still working with them. She did an excellent job! Both cakes looked and tasted great! Having her do our cakes made one thing I didn't have to worry about. Worth every penny and would definately use Mary Beth again.
We needed a large projection screen to play our wedding video which I realized one day before the wedding. Thankfully, he was able to accomodate. We gave him a list of songs we liked as guidance and some to play at specific points. He began playing every song down the list until I clarified. Then seemed irritated at me. Guests said he wasn't welcoming to requests.
One of our greatest wedding day costs so I had high expectations. They handled flowers, decorations, dance floor. We provided favors. Mothers' corsages were forgotten and therefore not in photos. Welborn's later brought them and they looked awful (not at all what I paid for or expected). They then replaced those but they didn't match the rest of the flowers. I had special small statue I wanted used in a centerpiece on the cake table display. All they did was set it on the table with a few cut flowers laying next to it. I was shocked and removed it before guests arrived. Overall, expected better from Welborn's.
