As part of our package at Freedom Hall & Gardens in Santa Clara, CA, we had the privilege of having DJ Ross as our DJ for our wedding on October 4, 2009. Prior to the wedding, Ross called to discuss everything we wanted, type of music, favorite songs etc and I got the feeling he was very prepared, organized, thorough and had alot of experience doing this before which was a relief.
The day of the wedding he was there promptly for the ceremony in the garden and then everythiing was transferred inside for the reception all very seamlessly. Ross has a great DJ and emcee voice, he pronounced everyone's name correctly for the wedding party, played great songs and knew that based on my email address that I was a Pet Shop Boys fan and he played their song as a tribute! he was a blast, did a great job and was so professional that I would definitely recommend him and Elite Entertainment for your DJ needs.
Our cake came as part of a package with Freedom Hall & Gardens. I was really pleased with the taste of the cake and the options we had to choose from. I was a bit worried at first because I went to a bridal show and they were there with samples and the cake tasted kind of dry which was surprising. However at the sampling at Piece of Cake the cake was moist and tasty and on our wedding day the cake was great. All of my guests commented on how cute the cake was and how delicious it was. We had red velvet for the bottom tier, a yellow and chocolate cake with some mousse filling for the middle tier and then our personal tier was lemon curd with fondant frosting. I was also pleased with the how the cake design turned out. I would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a cake.
Dianne absolutely ROCKS!! My co-worker used Dianne for her honeymoon and then recommended her for my honeymoon because she was so pleased with her and I am so glad I gave DIanne a call. On my initial phone call with her she gave me a ton of helpful information when I told her that we wanted to go to Rome, Paris and London for our October 2009 honeymoon. I was impressed with her right off the bat. At our initial meeting she proved to be so helpful in finding us the cheapest flights over to Europe and then had personal information and wisdom to share with us about each location--info on what to wear as a tourist, where to go, etc. Dianne even made photocopies of relevant articles on our destinations for us. She will work within your budget and will give you plenty of options to choose from as far as flights and hotels.
She is so friendly, knowledgable and pleasant to work with that I would recommend her to anyone and in fact I have---I have two other friends getting married this year and I have already provided them with her info. If you are planning your honeymoon I would definitely recommend giving Dianne a call to get you started.
I loved this florist. When I was looking for a florist for my wedding I checked out some reviews online and Fleurty received really good ones. They were our first and only stop. When we went in to the Fleurty shop we were greeted by Sachi and her cute dog. I believe her brother and father were also there. They were all sooo friendly and we asked the standard questions and she gave us very informative responses and told us what flowers would work in boquets and were in season, etc. We showed her my inspiration photos and our color scheme and she gave us great ideas for flowers and decor. I appreciated all of Sachi's suggestions, ideas and effort to work within our budget. I let her make the final call on what my bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets would look like including the color and the flowers used. It was a surprise up until just before walking down the aisle and they looked FABULOUS!! I was so pleased with them, as were the bridesmaids. The corsages and boutonnieres were also really cool and pretty. I would definitely recommend going to Sachi at Fleurty if you want good quality flowers designed with care, detail and effort.
I needed a makeup artist and hairstylist for my October 2009 wedding and found Bloom while searching online. I made an appointment for a trial run with Teresa for my hair and some other girl for my makeup, but her name escapes me at the moment. When I arrived, I found the shop to be really cute and I think it was Sarah (a co-owner?) who greeted me and was really nice. I had my makeup done first and the gal did a really nice job with the airbrush. Then Teresa came in and worked on my hair. She came up with a great updo which I loved. It involved alot of bobby pins and hairspray, but it looked great!
I ended up booking Teresa for my wedding, but not the makeup gal. I thought the price was just a bit expensive for makeup and, at the recommendtion of one of my bridesmaids, I found a great makeup artists who also works for Aveda and was very affordable. Teresa did a great job on the day of my wedding and showed up on time and then waited until we put the dress on over my head so she could do a few last minute touch-ups. She also did the hair for my mom, mother-in-law, two bridesmaids and flower girl. Overall I was really pleased with Teresa and Bloom and I found her prices to be pretty reasonable. My only complaint was the communication with Teresa. She was a bit hard to get a reply from some times and I must admit, I was a bit nervous about her coming through on the day of the wedding, but she did and my worrying was for naught. I would recommend Bloom for a great hairstylist.
