We visited Christophe Loyer while planning our wedding, but decided not to go with him for several reasons. For one, he only does taste-testing once a year, a one-time event where he invites all the couples that have decided to hire him for their wedding. The trouble with that is that we don't live in Dinard and couldn't make it to the event. We didn't want to hire a caterer without tasting their food, and he was not willing to do a tasting for us on another day. Another drawback was that he wasn't very flexible for vegetarian choices. We had some guests who are vegetarian, and we asked him if he could do either a pasta dish or a couscous. He said he didn't consider that "wedding food" and that he had his reputation to maintain. I think he will have to become more flexible in the future. I gave him 2 stars because overall he seemed to be friendly, but other than that, I would not recommend him.
Our florist was wonderful - she was attentive during our visits and her bouquets and arrangements were beautiful. The bridesmaid bouquets were lovely, the decoration in the church as well. They listened and gave us some great advice. We came back about 4-5 days after our wedding to do pictures and we bought my husband a new boutonnière, and when she saw my bouquet she offered to freshen it up without charge, just because she wanted it to look it's best on the pictures. Really wonderful service. The only reason I will give them 4 stars rather than 5 is that they could work on their catalog. Their creations were wonderful, but we just had to trust that they were going to put together something that we liked. Their catalog had a small selection of pictures, so it's best to either come with something in mind, or trust them. And you can trust them - but you just have to wait until the big day to actually see what it will look like :-)
Ask for Charlene, their chignon specialist. She's soft spoken and kind, with a creative flair, and I was really happy with what she did with my hair. My only recommendation would be that they offer a wedding package - I paid separately each time I visited them: 2 trials, the wedding day and the day we took pictures a the week following our wedding. They were accommodating to our schedules, and stayed late on a couple of occasions when we were doing trials.
The food and the service of CMP is really great. Many of our guests commented on how good the food was - and the best part is that they were affordable! If you like to taste their food (not many caterers in Dinard area do that), you can visit the restaurant in Dinan - it's a really nice place - great atmosphere and really yummy food. The service was above and beyond my expectations.
This "cave" or wine store was great. They were very knowledgeable about wine pairings with our menu and gave us some great suggestions. We were having fish, so we bought a lot of white, and they saved us by recommending we get more red than what we have foreseen with the caterer. He was right - we ran out of red even with the extra bottles that he recommended we get, but we still had white left. I was impressed at how personalized our experience was - my husband's cousin had been to the store to ask about wines, and when we arrived they immediately knew from memory which wines were recommended for our menu. They gave us two great wines within our budget and took back any bottles which were not used - which meant we could buy more without worrying of having dozens of bottles left.
