Ashley Drew, owner of Make Cake, did a BEAUTIFUL job on our wedding cakes!!! We had a small tiered cake which was perfect and looked JUST like the sketches she drew up with us. She also made us two sheet cakes to cut and serve to guests, they were so beautiful also!! We got so many complements on how delicious the cake was, and I was so happy to receive one of her cakes for my birthday as well (and it was beautiful and tasty too!!). She made all of our cake red velvet with cream cheese frosting, it was one of the best and most moist red velvets I have ever had. I highly recommend Make Cake. Ashley runs a great business. She is very trustworthy and committed to making sure each cake is exactly what you have in mind!!
While Country Brook was a bit of a drive from the south side of Milwaukee, we decided to check them out based on a recommendation from a friend. They were GREAT!!! Country Brook worked with us to choose flowers that we liked, not cookie cutter wedding flowers (I hate Calla Lillies!!!). Country Brook worked with us to stay within our budget, even sometimes offering similar flowers that were less expensive!! I ended up going with Dahlias and Orchids mainly in my bouquet, but we wanted a little something more. I had seen various herbs used in bouquets as greenery, and they recommended Rosemary!! It was beautiful and smelled fabulous!!!
We also rented a crisp and clean aisle runner for the church and it looked fantastic! I definitely recommend checking them out even if it is a bit of a drive!! They deliver on the wedding day and also pin corsages and boutonnieres. Great service and beautiful flowers!!
DMI Trolley was awesome!! The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because they were a bit pricey. We kind of ended up forgetting about or putting transportation on the back burner...so we had to scramble and find something maybe 2 months before the wedding. I really wasn't keen on a limo, unless it was an older model, and old cars are hard to find to rent. So, we did the next best thing and decided to rent a trolley. Problem was, all the trolleys look kind of cheesy with big bus tires sticking out from under them!! (my opinion anyways!) Then, I found the 18 passenger from DMI. It was perfect for us!! It looked vintage enough and had a beautiful wood interior. I think it is an older model though...because something happened where the door wouldn't open when we got to where we were taking photos after the wedding! The driver was awesome and somehow managed to open it after a phone call. My only other gripe is that kinda wish we would have gone with another size for the trolley. We could have used a couple more seats! But otherwise it was perfect!!
Beautiful photos and an excellent photographer!! We decided to go with Edward Fox after visiting probably 4 other shops. Usually I like smaller companies, but for wedding photos I wanted to be guaranteed that they would be beautiful. The price was a bit steep, but when compared with the others we visited it wasn't bad at all!! We are still awaiting our photo albums 6 months after the event, but we were also semi-slackers when it came to picking out photos for them :p
We received a free sitting for engagement photos also with our package, they are some of the most beautiful photos of us and capture our personalities really well.
A photographer named Jay captured our wedding, I highly recommend him. He did an awesome job and was perfect for a slightly quirky and easygoing couple like us. If you are open to new ideas for wedding shots and would like someone who captured so many shots it seems like we had two photographers, I would suggest Jay. He himself is definitely a little quirky, so we were a good fit. Our photos came out BEAUTIFULLY and are a great account of our day.
