Great company with a few different DJs to choose from, each with a different style and personality to fit your particular wedding feel. Chris, the owner, is very easy to get in contact with, and very willing to meet with you and discuss things. We ended up with Trevor, and he was excellent! He worked the crowd in a non-intrusive way, was very polite and professional, and worked very well with the site staff. DJ On The Side allows you to make your own play list, or general idea for the playlist, online. They also provide a timeline to help you figure out important songs. They are very good about contacting you to get details in order. An overall great experience with them as a whole.
Unfortunately, Michael has decided to close his photography business due to family circumstances, and I couldn't be more sad. I know I have gushed about all of my vendors, but Mr. Escalera was BY FAR my favorite vendor to work with. His work is amazing, he takes the time to get to know you, your future spouse, and the feel of your wedding. He truly captures moments and feelings in his photography. He was worth every red cent! My advice is to take the choice of a photographer very seriously. Your photos will be your most treasured keepsake from your wedding, and you want a photographer that will deliver your memories well above and beyond your expectations. Make sure you click with him or her... you'll have a lot more interaction with your photog than you think, but at the same time you don't want to know they are there.
I hope you find a photog as blessed with talent as Michael Escalera.
A great husband-wife team that are eat-up with talent. Their cakes look great and (just as importantly) TASTE amazing! I sampled a lot of cakes, including cakes at others' weddings and they all seemed dry and plain. The Shockleys have the look good and taste great combo down pat. Their prices are fair, they're more than willing to work with your ideas, and are easily contacted. Don't hesitate to book them, though.. they fill up fast!
