The staff at Lighten Up Salon in Budd Lake, NJ could not have been more accommodating. There were a few girls who decided last minute they wanted their makeup and nails done and the Lighten Up team made the necessary arrangements. I even broke one of my tips in the shower and they took the time to make sure everything and everyone looked perfect. I was a little annoyed at the girl who did my updo. Despite having told her it felt loose, she reassured me "I've been doing hair for years, it won't fall loose." Not an hour later, my bridesmaids were reinforcing chunks of hair that were falling out just moments before the ceremony.
On the day of the wedding the limo drivers were great. But getting them on the phone and getting a contract in place for the event was a bit of an ordeal. It took us forever to get a call back or to even see a contract. I think it was the week before the wedding before things were nailed down.
Sharon has this uncanny skill for slinking around the reception unnoticed...which is perfect for the candid shots my husband and I were looking to capture. While the posed shots were dragged on a little long, the end result was more than we could have hoped for.
The flower arrangements were just as I imagined. I gave Marlene a photo of what I wanted and she gave me a few suggestions to make my bouquet unique. The one downside was that the flowers were delivered a little late, just as I was about to leave the hotel for the ceremony. Other than that, the prices were incredibly reasonable and again, the arrangements were beautiful.
Joe Gatti and the rest of the Bretton Woods staff were nothing short of amazing. The food was great, the grounds were gorgeous, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue.
Chuck Russo was amazing! We built our playlist for the wedding but basically gave him free reign for the evening...Chuck knew how to read the energy of the room and the dance floor was never empty.
