California-based Nepalese Paper was really great! I was looking for a tree free invitation. These invites are made from Lotka leaves in Nepal. Young and old commented on our unusual invitations. Husband and I printed the invitations ourselves and had Kinkos cut them for a few dollars. The paper has texture, so some of the lettering wasn't perfect--people thought that we had handwritten them, though, and thought them quite charming! The bamboo closure on the front of the invite is a nice touch, we had to get extra postage because they could not be put through the postage machines (we did not use the traditional method of five million inner envelopes for our invites); the thank you cards did not have the bamboo closure. We dealt directly with the owners, which was nice. The only drawback was that we miscalculated how many people my husband's family was inviting and needed to have a rush order of invites sent to us--unbeknownst to us, they were on vacation! We sent the invitations a little bit late, and everything worked out fine.

My favorite part of these invites is the idea of passing on the card, rather than keeping it. The inside is removable so you can re-use the outside again; a truly recyclable card!
