We were unimpressed with this cruise. The entertainment was pretty terrible with more emphasis on jewelry shopping than anything. There weren't very many games, shows, or lectures and instead there were multiple daily sessions on shopping in the ports. Food was alright... nothing to write home about. If anything, we learned that we should fly to Victoria Canada for a second honeymoon and just work the city over. While there on the boat we were only in the city for about 2 hours... not enough time to get into trouble. Save your money up... pick a better cruise line (like Celebrity or Princess).
This was the first cruise we had been on. There are a lot of things that are left out about the cruise and you don't find out until you get on the boat, so read as much as you can. The tip that seems to be required is actually not required. At least I got mine refunded. I feel $10 a day per person is a little overboard. We were unhappy due to the children. We all know that people cannot handle their children so this is probably why they bring them on the boat and let them run wild because they don't want to deal with them. Carnival is a FAMILY vacation place, so if you do not want to deal with kids that talk back to their parents, and who run up and down the halls all times of the night, and who dominate all of the pools all day, don't go on Carnival. I would suggest you go on an age specific cruise line.
