About Gozo

The combination of stunning medieval villages, mild Mediterranean climate, idyllic beaches, exceptional places where you can organize your party and last but not least friendly legislation, make Gozo a destination preferred by couples who want to get married in a unique and special setting.

Gozo is an island of the Maltese archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, second largest after Malta.

The Maltese island is called Ghawdex, having an area of 67 square kilometers (about as much as Hong Kong). On the island live around 30,000 people, from those around 6,000 in the capital Rabat, also known under the name of Victoria.

The popular name of the island of Calypso, is derived from the Greek mythology of the Ogjgia of the poem Homer's Odyssey. According to the legend, the island was controlled by the nymph Calypso who hold the hero Odysseus as a prisoner of love for 7 years.

Gozo is famous for its features and places of interest and its charm, some of these include the Calypso Cave, Azure Window (place where parts of the Star Wars and Games of Thrones movies were filmed) and the Megalithic Temples (which are the oldest built structures that have resisted in the world).

The most famous beaches in Gozo are San Blass and Ramla Bay, with bright red and orange sand and turquoise crystal clear waters.

Gozo, located just 20 minutes by ferry from Malta is steeped in myths and secrets, things that make it full of attraction and romance.

All these things, combined with the romantic roads, always welcoming and smiling people, panoramic views of the landscape and of the see, make from Gozo a perfect destination for a dream wedding.
