We had issues trying to get a registrar to cover the date we had booked at the hotel. Word of warning, the County Meath Registrar office is a nightmare to try to contact..So we can to come up with an alternative and I found the Humanist society, which suited us down to the ground as we are a mixed marriage and didn't want any religious input. Mr Whiteside did an amazing ceremony, everybody commented on how lovely it was. With guidance from Brian, we were able to input so much to our own ceremony, which made it so personal and all about us. The only down side is in Ireland Humanist ceremonies do not hold any legal powers, so we had the legal ceremony in Armagh (where we are from) 2 days before, only our immediate family present.
