Description

First Central Congregational Church, in the heart of midtown Omaha, is the church everyone imagines when they think of "church." Beautiful stained glass windows, dark wood paneling and beams, and a long aisle to walk down are just a few of the amenities First Central has to offer.

Completed in 1921, First Central Congregational Church has been the site of many weddings and commitment ceremonies over the years. If you've always wanted a big church wedding, this is the church! Soft light filters through the many stained glass windows, and the aisle is lengthy enough for the longest train. The sanctuary seats 600 guests.

Several ministers are available to perform your ceremony. Our organist is a gifted musician, playing the harpsichord, piano, or our Aeolian-Skinner 48 rank organ. We also provide a liaison to assist you with making arrangements at the church.

There are a number of rooms available for use on your special day, including a common parlor where you may relax and visit with members of the wedding party between photographs and before the ceremony.

We also have an intimate courtyard with a fountain for small weddings, and an outside patio that can be set up to accommodate a group of up to 100 guests.

Facilities are available for a small reception or dinner. We have a commercial kitchen ready for your use. Any set-up, supplies, or catering will need to be provided by outside vendors. Alcohol may be served, but is limited to beer, wine, and champagne.

Please see our website at firstcentral.org, or call Sara at 402-345-1533, for more details.

First Central Congregational Church is an Open & Affirming congregation. The laws of our state recognize only one kind of union, but our stillspeaking God has blessed us with a love that embraces the sacred bond of all committed relationships. Whether that love is certified by our government or our God, we'd love to be part of your ceremony.
