Black Orchid Florist

I would give this vendor ZERO stars.

We got married in April and had a absolutely terrible experience with Black Orchid. We had been planning our wedding with them for over 10 months, and everything appeared to be in order when we went down for our wedding.

The morning of the wedding, our hotel wedding coordinator alerted us to the fact that Black Orchid brought all of the wrong flowers because the ones we ordered "did not open properly." Every flower for the bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces was a different kind than we had ordered and decided on. They were flowers we never would have chosen and we did not like the look. Black Orchid NEVER mentioned any concern over this being a possibility in the months prior to our wedding, nor did they contact us in the few days before the wedding to talk about replacement options. They simply replaced them on their own with whatever they must have had available (which honestly looked like weeds).

Additionally, we had paid a lot of money to have the ceiling of our reception area draped w/ white fabric and lights... and Black Orchid did not do this.

We later found out that all of the carelessness was due to the fact that Black Orchid was working with another couple getting married at another resort the same day. This couple had a bigger budget, therefore became Black Orchids priority. What is so upsetting is that they should have told us this were the case when they realized it, and we simply would have gone with another florist. The fact that they did not care about our happiness or wedding at all is simply upsetting. Our resort was so upset with the way Black Orchid handled it that they are not longer recommending them to any of their guests for weddings or events.

DO NOT USE THIS FLORIST!

I would give zero stars if it were an option. I was extremely disappointed in Black Orchid Florist. In the planning stages, Black Orchid was difficult to get a hold of and brought little to the table. On our wedding day, they were outside the hotel 30 minutes prior to the ceremony snipping flowers off a bush next door to use in our ceremony. This of course meant we got the wrong flowers, the the flowers at the reception were an even larger mess. Some had clearly started to wilt days prior to the reception, wrong colors were used, the wrong table runners (wrong colors and material all together) were used, and after spending $300 to print menus that coordinated with our wedding stationary - Black Orchid didn't bother to take them out and set them at each place settig. Last minute, our reception venue printed versions off an inkjet. Money wasted, terrible experience, and after talking to other Anguilla brides - I found out I was not the only one to go through this with Black Orchid. Their floral services were a dent in the perfect wedding for us. Don't let it happen to you. There are other florists on the island - Purple Rose came recommended as well.
