I had some major issues with the first Baker I chose. I ended up using Great Cakes instead. It was one of the best wedding planning decisions I made. Marsha was wonderful. She created EXACTLY what I wanted and the cake was DELICIOUS! I would not use anyone else in the Outer Banks!

We went with the famous "Key Lime Bliss" and our guests said it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had! It was delicious and so moist. Our cake turned out exactly as I had envisioned in my head - I'm so glad we went with Great Cakes!

Marsha and Natasha were terrific to work with. Marsha offers a really helpful tasting and we opted for an almond cake with apricot filling and a buttercream frosting; it was delicious. Once of our guests said it was the best wedding cake he'd ever had.--Wow! I thought it rocked, too!

The cake was delivered on-time and looked exactly as promised. It tasted wonderful. We had vanilly with strawberry filling.

Marsha was amazing, she worked with us one on one with everything that we loked for. She made it perfectly and simply the best!

Key Lime Bliss is amazing. You just can't beat the flavors of the cake and icing.

If your looking for a baker who can work miracles, look no further. Marsha, with great cakes is absolutely fabulous! Her signature Key Lime Bliss cake won over our entire wedding guest list, and they still talk about it to this day! She's extremely friendly and very creative. Take a look at her pictures on the website. She creates every cake by hand! If you dont see something on the website, take her a picture and watch it become reality (Thats what we did!).

My cake was fine. I have three reasons behind the three star rating. One Great Cakes is very big on layer flavoring, key lime, raspberry etc..I asked for a layer not fruity and not on the menu, white or dark choclate chip, and they were absolutely not willing to do it at any cost. Secondly my cake was beautiful, however they felt the need to sprinkle iridescent glitter on the top and around the base of the cake. I did not ask for this and I am sure she thought she was being helpful, however glitter is not to my taste. And the last reason, I ordered a red velvet groom's cake when we cut into it it was chocolate. I did not complain because what do you do at this point.

The cake itself was fine. It was moist and tasted like a wedding cake. Nothing amazing, thus the three star rating.
